ME3 stuck on initial loading screen immediately after importing a new ME2 save

This is my 6th run through of ME3, all imported from different ME2 characters. Other runs have gone great, no problems aside from random connectivity issues (not a big deal to me).

But this time around, just completed my first full-Renegade Shep from 1 & 2, and I get only as far as 3 accepting the Renegade import. It takes me to the loading screen, with the Normandy travelling at FTL. I don't get even get to the character config section (whether I want to keep the same face or create a new one, pick a bonus power, etc). It just stays on the Loading screen.

I am on a PC, laptop, Win 7 OS. Just 2 days ago bought Omega and Leviathan, and updated the game.  Since the game has been stuck today, I ran repair from My Games (Origin), and it said the game was already up to date. All DLC's installed with no problems, internet connectivity is good, can even access my other previous ME3 saves if I want. But I want to start a full-Renegade run; no more nice Femshep (do the scars import as well? It's the whole reason I went full Ren).

Does anybody know what's going on???

Thanks.

Update: while turning Origin to offline mode after starting it up, I was able to play (up to 4 lvls up so far) just on basic game mode - but as soon as Origin is online again so I can play the dlc's, the game freezes on loading screen. Game is still reporting as up to date, been repaired, etc. No idea what's going on.....HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I really want to see the only female Turian in the entire game in action!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (not counting the one who eyes Garrus in Citidel dlc.)

Thanks.

First let me say, I love the avatar pic  :)

I'm not a tech kinda guy, except when I play an engineershep, but I could suggest re-installing Origin. But if you're getting as far as that loading screen, then your DLC is validating, so I dunno.

Maybe your save is corrupted. Try loading it in ME2 and saving a new copy to import?

Once the DLCs have been authorized, it should be OK to turn Origin offline again.

When I load the main menu, I don't get a validation issue message. I see the galaxy readiness percentage summary, clicking DL'able content says the dlc's are already owned and so I assume they are installed because dl'ing them from Origin in game automatically installs them after the dl is complete. It's just the loading screen.

Will try turning Origin off after the main menu starts.

Well, ME3 does have that DRM bull crap. I think I've only managed to play ME3 offline like once out of luck, I guess.

What's your computer specifications, or how many programs do you have running in the background when playing ME3? The game will crash if there's not enough RAM to proceed or to open the program, and DLCs do take up more RAM when they're currently being played.

well, turning Origin off after the game validates the dlc's isn't working. Must be either Omega or Leviathan dlc; it hasn't worked with either loaded since I bought them. Will try re-dl'ing Origin, see if that helps....   otherwise, a loading screen is all I get.

Strange that your other saves will work okay though, that's what made me think it's a corrupt save.

Yeah, it doesn't work, because I've heard that Origin needs to be online for your DLCs to validate.

on HP laptop, Win 7, AMD E-350 processor, 4G ram but set to use 5367 total  (from hd). Only basic start up programs, minus firewall and updates, running in background. Origin running also takes 117,922 K total, as stated on task manager. A lot more than Steam takes to run, for sure, at least on my laptop.

tried that too, so it's not the saves from 2, because when Origin was offline and could not validate (thus run) the dlc's, I was able to start a new game up in 3 based on my Renegade saves from 2. But since I've turned it on and let it validate the new dlc's, can't play. Before dl'ing Omega/Leviathan, I had the other single-player dlc's (all minus the me 3 interactive story board - can't stand the one I got for 2. Ugh.)

My core is an i3 4000M intel core, and it is stronger than your processor, but you do have the necessary amount of RAM. I don't really trust http://www.systemreq...ntslab.com/cyri answer, because mine says FAIL too, but I can play it without any problems(maybe some severe frame drops when there's a lot of particles being rendered). You should try and see how much RAM ME3 is taking up along with your background processor as well. When I play ME, I always close all programs just so I can keep my frames higher.

usually when it runs, it's between 86%-100% cpu; average about 96%.  Nothing else runs when ME3 does, just Origin/EA server (which I HATE, because when I shut that off, can't play anymore. And can't just delete that from the game file).

Only ME3 has that DRM crap, while ME1 and ME2 aren't restricted to it. You can try disabling Origin in-game, but I don't know if that benefits you anyhow. What's your laptop model?

To be precise, ME1 and ME2 have different DRM crap.

I don't think this can be a RAM issue. I've run ME just fine on a Vista rig with 2 GM RAM.

HP Pavilon g6. it's a few years old, but I've played WoW on it no problems, Skyrim/Fallout NV, and ME 2 as well.  So maybe it is the amount of ram the two extra dlc's use?

Yeah, but you only need origin to start the game, after that you can exit Origin...

Or maybe your processor isn't enough to handle the DLCs completely. I sometimes run with mods, but I don't have trouble running any of the DLCs. Maybe it's not a RAM issue...

ok, re-install of Origin has no change. ME3 cpu, however, when loading with Leviathan/Omega, is stuck at 441,196 K .   At this point, total cpu was only 82%, so there is technically room for my laptop to load other things; it has run multiple programs before at 100% cpu. But ME 3 gets stuck at this 441,196K, and what shows in game is the loading screen at this point. I can do without some other dlc's, like the alternate appearances and such, but how do I uninstall only those so Omega and Leviathan can play? Is that even possible to uninstall only the non-action dlc's?

Not sure, but one way would be to remove all the DLC, and then pick and choose which to re-install.

If you loaded a save with those DLCs, you can't load them anymore without the DLCs that you removed.
