I like your thinking. It's sad that Miranda has to die because of it(I like her, what can I say), but Liara is always a good choice.
Miranda survives if you help her each time you meet her on the Citadel (not rejecting her the first time, and giving her access to the Alliance' ressources the third time) even if you have started a relationship with Liara.
Assari is not euphonious, but I like assguard, assdept, assticar, assfiltrator and ass sentinel. Assguard makes me think of valkyries.

From what I've heard, she dies every time if you dump her in ME3. Not so if you dump her in ME2. I automatically assumed you dumped her in third game, but I guess you did that in second?

She definitively can live even if you haven't broken with her in ME2. The key point is to not explicitly break with her in ME3. So here's the process:
- first meeting : you tell her that she is still important for you (so you keep the possibility to continue the relationship);
- second meeting (with her hologram) : nothing special to do, I think that choosing the parangon options is enough ;
- third meeting : you say that you trust her and give her access to the Alliance's ressources.
With these three conditions, she survives even if you engage a relationship with Liara before the third meeting.

I agree. My point was to explain how she can survive if you have romanced her in ME2 but engaged a relationship with an other person in ME3.

Yes, but only because you stopped at "kinda". All the transformative noun (assguard, carrier, crutchmore, etc ad boring infinitum) usage on BSN is utterly lame.
