My Witch Hunt save file apparently doesn't import properly

I finished Witch Hunt (after playings Origins, Awakening and Golems in that order) and wanted to import it into DAII. But when I want to import my Witch Hunt save I get this message:

Dragon Age: Origins was not completed in this saved game. The save can still be imported, but Dragon Age II will replace any missing decisions from Dragon Age: Origins with a default history.

I downloaded the Witch Hunt v1.1. patch and installed it and the game did create an autosave file for it which is the one I imported. This kind of sucks because I got into Kirkwall in DAII and when I get the codex entry for the Warden it tells me he lived and became the Warden-Commander in Amaranthine. I can assure you that he didn't!

Importing my Origins epilogue file does seem to work properly but it's a pitty the game doesn't recognize my choices from Awakening, Golems and Witch Hunt.

I don't really see an immediate fix for this other then to just import my Origins file, so that's why I've come here... :( Playing on the PC by the way.

Edit: I just realised that since my Warden died in Origins, I made a new Orlesian one in Awakening. But of course that doesn't carry over my decisions in Awakening! If I start Awakening over with my *dead* Warden and go all the way to Witch Hunt and import that will DAII even recognize that my Warden died when killing the Archdemon? Argh this is so irritating! <_<

Stuff like this might help: http://www.ign.com/b...pens.199508328/

Apparently you cannot have a dead warden unless you use a default background -- because your warden is magically alive if you import them into Awakening.
