Starting Options for Customizing Your Character

*Please bring back the different voice options!
*The option to have other NPCs actually SAY your character's name (like in DA2 with them saying "Hawke")
---------with this one I was thinking of having possible preset names that you can choose from, and then if you don't choose a preset, you'll live with them NOT saying your name (obviously a big request, and probably very hard to do).
*I'd also like to see the different origins again (such as noble/commoner/city elf/Dalish elf)

I think its been state somewhere that we'll get the choice of two different voices for male and female, and I don't believe we'll be getting different origin stories again I heard it was the trade off for being able to play as different races again though I could be remembering that wrong. Also we'll have set last names so we may get some NCPs calling us by our last name but I doubt they'll do a list of first name presets that we can choose to hear though that would be kind of cool to have.

I was thinking about the last name thing, but then Qunari don't have last names, so how would that work?

Not sure maybe because the Qunari will be Valshok*sp* and not part of the Qun that they'll have a last name? It seems like the other races will have last names so I doubt that they wouldn't give the Qunari PC one too especially since it wont be part of the Qun.

That's true, and plus I just realized that the Qunari/Tal-Vashok don't have first names either lol, so I'm not sure how that would work either.
Also, I think two options for voices is slightly limited? We had many options in Origins, but even with most of them I didn't like.

There are a few things I want to see in DA3:
*Please bring back the different voice options!
*The option to have other NPCs actually SAY your character's name (like in DA2 with them saying "Hawke")
---------with this one I was thinking of having possible preset names that you can choose from, and then if you don't choose a preset, you'll live with them NOT saying your name (obviously a big request, and probably very hard to do).

1) Each gender gets 2 voice options, one of an Ametican accent and one an English accent
2) Last names maybe, but don't expect first names.
3) We don't have origin stories to play through. We don't know human, but we know Dwarf= surfacer, Elf = Dalish, and Qunari = Vashoth.

in romancing, I was hoping to see more of actual romance... In DA2, you couldn't go right up to your lover and kiss them or be intimate like in DA:O. But even in DA:O, I felt like the romance was limited. They rarely said "I love you" T.T lol

I'm not sure on the full details but I think Vashok is suppose to be different than Tal-Vashok I think Vashok is a Qunari born outside the Qun so you would still have a name as opposed to a Tal-Vashok which was a Qunari who used to be part of the Qun but left.
Well our Warden hardly spoke in Origins so it would most likely be too costly to get that many different VAs for a game with a fully voiced protagonist as cool as it would be to have all those options.

Agreed I would love some more depth with the romance it was pretty limited in DA2 since you couldn't talk to them unless it was a quest related thing unlike DAO and DAO was a little lacking with some things. At the very least it would be nice if we could get some more worried or reassuring dialog out of our LI's when certain things happen or are said around them. *cough Dwarf Commoner and Dwarf Noble cough*

Vashoth are those of the Qunari race who aren't part of the Qunari religion and Tal-Vashoth are those who violently oppose the Qun. Iron Bull will be Tal-Vashoth for example.

I agree with the names. It'd be nice to have at least the LIs call the Inquisitor by their last names instead of just 'Inquisitor'. I just think it'd be weird to have your LI go 'I love you, Inquisitor!' or something. I dunno. Not very romantic.

It would be a nice change of pace after all we listen to and comfort them their should be some dialog where they offer comfort to the PC or the PC can say that they are feeling stressed, tired, worried etc and their LI reassures and comforts them. That would be very sweet and I don't know about anyone else but I'd love to roleplay my PC feeling the stress way on them and they need someone to lean on for a minute or two while they figure out what to do next.

You know, I was just thinking, it's kinda funny how there are American and English accents when there isn't an England or America XD

That's what I was thinking too. It doesn't seem that "real life" like... I mean I get that there's a world to save and all, lol, but we all need a little love!

Exactly! Even the most bada** person can get overwhelmed sometimes when the world is relying on them and companions offering a little comfort when things might be getting to be too much would be a very nice touch.

I hold the opposite view. I think two voice options per gender is friggin FANTASTIC, considering our protagonist will be fully voiced like Hawke. Yeah Origins had lots of options for your random "HYAAAH"'s and your "I shall do it"'s, but in Inquisition we're gonna get essentially four different people reading all of the Inquisitor's many lines.
This alone quadruples (literally) the replay value for me. ![]()

What do you want instead then, "Thedas" accents?
What would those be?

Enter the stupid pet name. Possibly "Quizzie". Although that makes it sound like you work at a sandwich place.

As for the name thing... I"m not too keen on the idea of choosing from a preset selection. I would absolutely hate to give up the option of naming my character whatever I want. I'm fine with acquaintances calling my character "Inquisitor," friends calling her "friend/pal/buddy" etc, and love interests calling her "my love" or something along those lines.

There's no such thing as an "American" or an "English" accent, either. What's generally considered an "American" accent is a Midwestern accent (although some parts of the Midwest have their own distinct accents) and an "English" accent is actually something called "Received Pronunciation".
I hope the "American" accent is a really dry, flat, drawly one, though.
