I was thinking about this scene, and him going on a killing spree in the epilogue (which was retconned, I know).

You're really going to judge someone suffering PTSD as 'creepy'?

Because talking about my dislike on those other threads instantly made me a troll. And I'm not. Apparently I'm not allowed to express my dislike for Cullen.

"Why are there so many people who like Cullen" wasn't a Cullen thread but an Anti-Cullen thread.

Where in my post did I say otherwise?

"Whatever we were before, we are now the Inquisition." - quote from trailer

Right here. You were just talking about the Inquisition no where the Inquisitor my stand on what subjects.

I posted that quote to show that Cullen's past as a Templar will not affect the Inquisition.

Ummm... sure?  Going on a killing spree isn't cool.

That is something that always pissed me off. Cullen goes on a killing spree and gets sent to a retreat before he is sent to Kirkwall where he is made second in command. But if a mage were to kill one person let alone go on a killing spree like Cullen, they would have been killed.

Wait so you know about the other cullen hate threads yet your op says you've only seen love for him in threads and no threads about disliking him? If you already knew there were tons of hate threads about him why make one asking why there aren't any hate threads about him?

And if you misunderstood what my first post asked, why didn't you rezz any of the numerous threads specifically about people disliking cullen instead of making your own? There are tons of threads that have OPs virtually identical to yours.

The killing spree never happened.

I don't really understand how this scene could be considered creepy,he's obviously suffering PTSD after being tortured for weeks maybe months by blood mages and demons respectively. He's at the point where he can't tell what's real and what an illusion.

Still each to their own,I have no intention to force you to read into the scene or tell you what to find creepy or not.

Yeah, his obsession with the female mage Warden was pretty creepy, which was only magnified by the killing spree in the epilogue.

That's stalker material, right there.  He changes in DA2, so I'm pretty indifferent towards him.

Where are they? I couldn't find them. I really did try but I only found ones that talk about how they love him.

Think of it like this Cullen is a good man just has suffered a lot, made it through PTSD and had to make a hard call and go against his commander.

He stood up at the end of DA 2 and is no longer the same, would quote something but think Cullen will be a different person then before he grew up fully.

I didn't find him creepy after that happened to him. I thought he was understandably  pissed off and tramatized. But in the beginning of the Mage origin, yes he is very creepy.

You're obviously allowed to express your dislike.  Are you just looking for a place to meet like-minded haters or are you hoping to discuss the character?

He stood up to her way to damn late. How many mages did he cut down, how many children did he cut down? Also good men don't say that one group of people are not people but living weapons to be used and disposed off. Also he said that templars have divine right over mages. They own mages.

I would like to discuss the character. I want to see if my mind can be changed.

What do you mean exactly by the beginning? Is it the stuttering, the blushing or the fact that he runs away if you proposition him?Because these things mentioned above are what I consider the normal behaviour of a young, inexperienced and rather shy individual.

Here are three that I found after a quick search.  Some of them start off quite promising and I remember enjoying the discussion we had in one or two of them.  Also, lots of people saying they want to murder him.

He says he watches you, and how he says it was creepy. Not to mention how he talks about that he was supposed to kill you. Like it was something to be proud of. That is creep stocker behavior.

I don't think Cullen is evil or bad for what he did. He was most likely suffering from PTSD which severly morphed his opinion. What the mages in the tower did to him shocked him, and he didn't connect mages as being human after that experience.

I'm not saying what he did wasn't what we would considered 'bad', but I don't think it is malevolent. He didn't kill mages to watch them suffer. He wasn't trying to be evil. He was doing what he honestly believed as the right thing. It took him a bit to figure out and recognize that this was wrong, that he was wrong, but the fact that he did change his mind and didn't go his whole life hating mages (even though he has much more reason to than most in Thedas) shows a lot about his character. ^^

However, everybody has their own opinion. :3

I guess I meant his overall obsession of the female mage.  I understand he's going through a traumatic experience and I felt bad for him, but that scene still disturbed me.  "Sifting through my thoughts... tempting me with the one thing I always wanted but could never have."  Add that to the killing spree (which happened in the epilogue but later didn't happen in DA2), and I'm creeped out.

But, like you said.  To each their own.  I don't hate his character at all.  I just found him creepy for that one Origin.

Its not just Cullen that sees mages as weapons. That's just the world of Thedas. That's how it is. Most people in thedas, depending on where you are, see mages as dangerous animals, so making a thread about how you don't like Cullen for not liking mages seems pointless to me.

I like him because he's got a strong sense of duty and has been open to changing his mind before.  He gets thrown around a lot by circumstances that are largely out of his control and he recovers each time.  I look forward to seeing what he becomes in DA:I.  Seriously, how scary would it be to be a Templar for 20+ years, possibly rarely even seeing the world outside of the Circles, and then suddenly it's all gone?  When your entire life has been a strict regimen the sudden freedom could be terrifying.  I'd personally feel lost.
