Four players with armoured compartments (i.e., more missiles) all know where to stand when a wave starts, causing spawns to only happen in one spot - which is easily rocketable. You'll note they switch spots after a while to make sure nobody runs out of rockets.

 

I think (based on comments) that they modded the game so the objective would always be targets, which is kinda cheaty but not something that can't happen naturally. You can do a speedrun without that but it might be harder to break a speed record.

Buddy, I know how it works. And yes it is a speedrun, but I can't shake the fact that it is so cheap and requires so little skill. I much more prefer to watch a no rocket duo speedrun because then you can't really have that perfect spawn control and you have to be a very good player to complete it.

 

Put 4 noobs together in a group with AC V and tell them your strategies on forcing 1 spawn and they can speedrun Platinum every day of the week even though they can't duo Silver or even solo Bronze. Same with Cain Mine spam......

Sort of, but I'm a bit serious about it too because a speedrun where you don't actually play the game is just wrong in my opinion.

 

I have the same opinion about all those people speedrunning Dark Souls without killing a single enemy except for the bosses, so freaking stupid to say "look I beat the game in record time by not playing the game!".

Yeah I kind of agree there. Never was into missile speedruns myself, I just don't find them very interesting. That said, some people do, and this is probably the best ever done of them, so... I am not going to take away anything from their achievement

It requires no skill to do it but to do it well requires great communication and skill. Most would agree no rocket runs are generally the more fun though. It's also dependent on kit too. Some people are so damn good with the GI that it is essentially just as unfair and uninteresting as a rocket speed run.

Yeah, all those GI bastards! Sometimes I wish that I could be good with the GI, but I never really got the hang of it so it's totally fair for anyone who plays with me if I use the GI. So I know what you mean even though I never really experienced it myself.

There is a no rocket Platinum duo in less than 11 minutes? You might be thinking of the 10:20 one, but that's with rockets... I believe the fastest no rocket full team match is 11:41

That no rocket full team time could be beaten by quite a bit. Hell you can probably get sub 9 easily on Jade.
