GI Javelins would be fast as well but no where near what you can do with Cain mines in terms of time.

As far as I know the 11:41 is the fastest no rocket run that required shooting your guns and moving. We did one Cain mine run and got 9:31 but decided those weren't worth doing as they were pretty much the same as a rocket run.

Buddy, I know how it works. And yes it is a speedrun, but I can't shake the fact that it is so cheap and requires so little skill. I much more prefer to watch a no rocket duo speedrun because then you can't really have that perfect spawn control and you have to be a very good player to complete it.

 

Put 4 noobs together in a group with AC V and tell them your strategies on forcing 1 spawn and they can speedrun Platinum every day of the week even though they can't duo Silver or even solo Bronze. Same with Cain Mine spam......

I don't quite agree that 4 noobs can speedrun plat 24/7 especially ones that can't duo silver or solo gold. Reason is they won't always get targets for objectives. Does speedrun require skill or not? Well, I can't really answer that question because it leads me to think, skill or practice? In fact, I think this applies to everything after all "practice makes perfect"

There is a no rocket Platinum duo in less than 11 minutes? You might be thinking of the 10:20 one, but that's with rockets... I believe the fastest no rocket full team match is 11:41

 

I'm fairly sure the fastest no-rockets Platinum duo is this. I could be wrong since someone probably nuked the **** out of Platinum with lolCainMines faster.

This isnt how Plat is meant to be played.  Platinum is meant to be played with 3 other PUGs made up of any combination of Juggys and Voli and then your kit.  Take  40+ minutes where you will get a gold revive medal 2X over, clutch 3-5 waves, do the objectives yourself, burn all 6 ammo/medigel/ops packs and rocket all the things while trying to unlock your gun because the Volus is spamming shield boost just to get to Extraction wave.  Then when you are in the home stretch one of the Juggys will siege pulse an Abomb and end your day while the other 3 hop on the shuttle for Miller Time.

3 Talon Mercs and a Drell infiltrator was the magic combination. Demolishers are completely unnecessary if you are specced right.

That is easily beatable tbh. It was a scrubby game from my perspective and we got bad objectives as well. 16:xx is definitely possible without cain mine spam and rockets.

i'll give you that it may not be much fun to watch per se, but you're deluding yourself to say that it takes no skill at all to pull off, because otherwise you would have been able to do it yourself. sour grapes, maybe? i will allow you that i brought very little personal skill to the table in the endeavor, but I have seen firsthand that a great deal of preparation and skill (believe it or not, teamwork is in fact generally considered to be a form of skill, not that someone as self-important as you would appreciate this) went into this on the part of my teammates.

as an addendum, regardless of how you choose to play and what contrived restrictions you choose to put on your own game experience, at the end of the day it's still a co-op game vs pre-scripted opponents, nothing a well-coded bot couldn't handle. not exactly as "skill intensive" as you might like your ego to believe. perhaps your time would be better spent on a game where it is possible for you to test your so-called skills against those you desire so much to belittle.
