Our sources from GameStop have confirmed that the new Mass Effect is called 'Origins', it's a new trilogy and not a prequel ( yeah take it the way you want)

Guess it's just a name but I would be rather disappointed, Origins subtitle is so overused, DAO, Arkham Origins, Rayman Origins, X-men Origins...

i actually agree here no matter how bad i want a new mass effect game the title ( if its true) is overused for sure.

It's straightforward and immediately recalls how Dragon Age started, which could be a good sign as far as selecting races and backgrounds. 

 

If true, with that disclaimer about it not being a prequel, I'm digging it.

IMO this is another fake. New trilogy while the old one have lots of plot holes, that doesn't sound right. But it is not a prequel, so it could have been worse.

I'm not getting too excited as we've been told that before. It didn't pan out as proclaimed.

He meant DLC. EVEN if next ME takes previous choices into consideration, it will not be done with save games. Transferring files between PS3-PS4 and X360-Xbone is a clusterfuck mess most people wouldn't bother with. That's why they're going with Keep for DAI instead and the same thing would be done for ME4 if they wanted to incporporate previous choices somehow (that, or we would just have extended in-game Miranda questionarie written into plot to "set up" previous choices, or another Genesis-like comic thingy). But actual save files are out of the question because of console generation swap

'Origins' does nothing for me, if anything it screams prequel which is the last thing that I wanted, if it is a prequel than I will be passing on this.

On the other hand I am intrigued by the idea of a new Trilogy. After all the ME3 backlash I got the impression that Bioware did not want to go down the trilogy route again, I always assumed the next ME game would either be a stand alone title or the first part a 2 part storyline, something less ambitious than a trilogy so that Bioware can prove to their fans that they can do the choice thing properly and follow through with proper consequences for each choice.

If the game is a sequel I don't see how can they name it Origins since it would be a marketing hell.

This, something like the keep for DAI is a much better idea then trying cross generation save imports and its much better than the genesis comics.
