So rumor has it ME4 will kick off a new trilogy. If that is true, then they BETTER stick to their story from the start. No silly retconning halfway through! And no pathetic, laughable comics from that laughable lot.

And no leaked scripts, or it's your eyes!

I'm not reposting anything, I started my own thread with its own purpose. You would've realized that if you bothered to read before getting your knickers in a twist because I'm attracting attention away from your thread.

Ok...

Yah, pathetic comics... Your opinion...

Like everything else in the OP :wizard: :wizard:

See? Respect different opinions

*ahem* back to the topic, shall we?

IDK why people are shooting for a new trilogy... IDK, maybe it's bigger/smaller than that? (Did they say that it was another Trilogy they were making? )

I'm gonna buy it, definetly. Because, I loved the Original ones. Every Single One of Them :)

Exactly because we got so invested is the reason why you (and even me a bit) are afraid. Maybe I'm not alone in this, but I know when I got ME2 I was just expecting a fun ride. As ME1 and ME2 released, the anticipation and the expectations grew. Then. after following all the hype leading to ME3 (which I assume is the main point of issue for you), I'm sure we were all expecting this game to be Jesus incarnated in video game form (the over-hyping and not delivering on promises didn't help much either.)

I know ME3 had flaws. Heck, every game has. Maybe ME3 suffered from it more because of a lack of planning and expectations that rose to space (literally). Maybe the devs could've done more with extra development time, could've made some aspects of the game better, etc. Maybe it was just plain bad

But we have to remember what got us invested. That opening scene of ME1, that sense of awe and exploration. All of that potential is still there in that universe. You yourself proposed solutions to continue on with the franchise. There is still hope, more than you think.

And I can bet that after the ME3 fiasco, Bioware will be extra dedicated to making it right. Do you really think they'd make the same mistakes? Look at what the Dragon Age team has done after the DA2 fiasco. And the same seems to be happening with Mass Effect. Just look at what's been teased. The focus on exploration, story, and characters. What we saw potential in might finally be realized.

Nobody is forcing you to get back into the Mass Effect universe, and I have no idea what is in store for the next game tomorrow at E3. All I can say, is that you should give Bioware another chance and at least keep an interest in a game franchise that is, in my mind, the best of the best.

For starters, they should avoid letting players kill any squadmate in the middle of the trilogy.

That's true. If they wanted to do something similar in the future, it would require a lot more planning and ressources so that everyone would be satisfied.

Multiplayer, optional dialog removal... and now you ask for yet another defining RPG element to be removed? It's just another step into the direction of becoming an action only game.

MP was successful in ME3 so its coming back, the problem with having all squad mates killable in the middle of a trilogy is that it means many will have to be side lined in the last game and a lot of other problems. The ME trilogy was also intended to be an action RPG ever since the first game.

I wasn't implying it wasn't. It's just another detrimental aspect to the series.

Rectification by omission is not a solution.

And you want to make it an action game only. Well, you are getting your wish.

And ended up becoming an action-shooter with a few dialogue options.

The problem was that the overall story wasn't planned out and we ended up with characters from the second game were going to have minor roles (save two or three of them) planning out the trilogy and not adding too many characters in the 2nd part of the story might have avoided some problems in the third game. There are such things as action-RPGs the ME trilogy fits that group (the combat is 3rd person based).
