I noticed that in some of the material released hyping up DA:I, that 'Arl Teagan' was mentioned.

Do you think that means that Arl Eamon died at some point between DA:O and DA:I? Or do you think he just stepped down and 'retired,' passing on his title and fiefdom to Teagan.?

I think it's been mentioned a few times that when it comes to Teagan they accidentally keep mislabeling him. There's a lot of confusion about that, hahah

I'm pretty sure the epilogue screens established Eamon retired.

Those aren't 100 per cent accurate, but it seems like a pretty logical development.

Both of your suggestions could have happened. In the same timeline I mean. He could have stepped down, leaving his stuff to Teagan, and died later on.

Also, I hope "Arl" Teagan will appear in the game. I like him. It seems likely, with Redcliffe being in.

He can potentially be the chancellor if Alistair is king (and possibly even if not) which is why Teagan is the Arl.

Teagan is Eamon's heir; if Connor's alive he's a Circle mage and thus prohibited from inheritance, and if he's dead then Eamon has a daughter who is also a mage. Eamon can also mention during Origins that he intends to pass Redcliffe to Teagan.

I'm not sure Eamon as Chancellor explains Arl Teagan though, because a Cousland Warden can become the Chancellor instead of Eamon, in which case Eamon returns to Redcliffe. I suppose its always possible that Eamon becomes the Chancellor after the Warden disappears though.

How old was Eamon in Origins? It's been over 10 years, soooo he could be dead by now.

I just wanna see Teagan again, one of my favorite side characters in the 2 games.

I'm guessing BioWare's canon is that regardless of actions, Eamon abdicated as Arl in favour of his brother.

I hope so. I liked Eamon, so I kind of hope the old man is still alive and kicking in DA:I.

I could see Eamon retiring and Teagan taking his place

It could just be he didn't want the position anymore, and since Conner if alive can't inherit his title, Teagan is his heir.

I would think that Eamon passed on the Arl-ship and then died. Or declared Bann Teagan as his heir...then died.

Remember, it's been over ten years, and Eamon wasn't exactly a spring chicken. Denerim then cleaning up the darkspawn could have taken too much of a toll on him.

I would think that Teagan would appear in DAI. Since the Shrine of Sacred Ashes is located in Ferelden, they would almost certainly provide any security, and Redcliffe, being the closest hold, would be the likely place to provide it, with Teagan overseeing it.

or Alistair if he ended up being a drunk and taken back to Ferelden by Teagan.

Alistair wouldn't have a claim to it though, being raised by someone doesn't mean you're legally adopted.

Well Eamon was getting on in years. It's possible he's dead or passed on the mantle.

Maybe teagan got promoted because he's honestly a more popular character? (Seriously does anyone not love him?)

So...did anyone else get the vibe that Connor was really Teagan's son from some ongoing affair with Isolde?

Arl of Denerim most likely, seeing as how the reign of the last two didn't end so well.

Not at all. Based on how Teagan and Isolde talk to each other in Orlais in the Mark of the Assassin DLC, I think Teagan barely gets along with Isolde, let alone carries enough attraction to her to carry on with an affair with her. Plus, Isolde and Eamon are an obvious love-match. There is absolutely nothing to benefit Eamon and Isolde marrying each other. She's an Orlesian noble, and the married not terribly long after the Rebellion (which Eamon fought in), so there's nothing but hard feelings for each nation on either side of the border. I doubt Isolde would cheat on Eamon.

In my canon...Teagan was single before he feared ending up with being someone like Isolde who has the depth of a rain puddle.

I wouldn't be suprised if he died of natural causes. He was getting kinda old by the time of DAO.

Eamon's had a tough life.

As a 17ish year old he fought for the freedom of his nation.

He had to deal with the aftermath of the Orlesian occuption (i.e. neighbors declaring neighbors collaborators, and other post rebellion troubles).

His son is either dead or stuck in the circle (and potentially possessed)

His wife is either dead or permanently moping that her son is gone.

His sister died very young (Rowan, Cailan's mom)

His nephew died very. very young.

He had to fight for Ferelden's survival again.

All in all I think the dude is owed a rest by now, let him retire and go fishing while Teagan handles Redcliffe and Alistair/Anora/Warden handles the nation.
