I bought a £15 Xbox LIVE card today with some spare cash I saved over the last two weeks. I had the choice of Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II, and so I chose the former.
DA:O is the better one, right?

You will not regret your choice.
You made the right choice. Definitely.

I think they're both good for different reasons. But naturally, it's better to start off with DAO. Enjoy.

agreed you made the best choice =D
origins is way better than da2 by alot
Play as a mage first! It's the easiest!
I am using a mage! OH WHY DID I CHOOSE SUCH A SLOW FIGHTER!!!!!

That was a few hours ago in the Ishal thread. I'm getting mixed signals here... ![]()
FWIW, mages are probably the fastest and most powerful fighters but they certainly aren't the easiest, not by a long shot. A sword & shield warrior would probably easiest and most satisfactory for a first playthrough, given that there's a lot more that's new in addition to the Warden's class.

Too late, I'm already a warrior xD
Dragon age origins is the first hence you should've picked it up first ![]()
Also on origins u can create 1 of 12 options of different characters (not including classes and build) while in Dragon age 2 u can play male or female version of the same character.
Remember to purchase your dlcs!
They're both good, for different reasons, but obviously you should play the first one first, silly.
I bought it the other day for $5 on the psn flash sale. How did i miss this game. LOVIN IT
Yes, DAO is generally liked more than DA2. The 6 different origin sequences before the main game kicks in are all very unique and interesting too. Even if you don't play through the whole game that many times, I highly recommend doing a character for each origin:
Mage
Human Noble
Dalish Elf
City Elf
Dwarf Noble
Dwarf Commoner
Dwarf Noble is the most beneficial, gameplay-wise, but Human Noble is probably the best story-wise.
just finished first time full run as magi (human mage) and it was same beneficial story wise like any other origin.
Gameplay wise Blood Mage \ Arcane warrior < ROFL
I hope you picked an elven warrior...
Depends really DA:O is better because gameplay wise you can sink 100+ hours into with all the dlc and teh xpac added so much more in depth as well. DA2 was shorter not as in depth also da2 was more about the story of kirkwall and the mage vs templar. And it was repetative as hell. But lore wise fan wise id get them both.
I beat it 3 times on 360, and now I'm on the PC version. My 360 my elf mage, and city elf warrior, dwarf commoner
My PC Origins is my dalish, and both noble origns I've yet to finish
