DAO is generally the better liked one, but don't let its detractors fool you, DA2 is a solid enjoyable experience despite its flaws. I'd recommend getting both eventually
I purchased Dragon Age: Origins today

I purchased both games on the PS3 and have played a bunch of times each. I just got done with finally getting platinums on the games. I have been thinking of building a gaming computer and I will definitely buy these games again once it's complete.
Dragon Age Origins is a great game. I think you will spend a lot of time playing through the individuals stories. Something that is missed in Dragon Age 2. Dragon Age 2 is still a good game. My only complaint is some of the repeated caves underground spaces looking similar or exactly the same but it isn't gaming breaking. A few of the characters were annoying, Fenris and Anders come to mind. There are obvious reason why. But I won't spoil that for you.
Enjoy your Dragon Age adventure ![]()

Hehe I know the feeling.
I got DA:O again (as I lost my original discs) and I pretty much burned through the game and DLCs in a week. (I am doing this so I can finish DA2 so I have stuff ready for DA:I)
Now I normally would play a mage, but I rolled up a Dwarved Rogue (commoner).
Holy crap. Gave her Assassin skills and poisons and she was a killing machine. So much so that I made Hawke a rogue in DA2. It's awesome!
Enjoy DA:O!
