Looks like our final warrior companion.

Blackwall? Surprising but fitting.

Aside from the name he's the best character revealed so far, has real presence. His eyes look bestial and he's got marks on his face so signs of the taint maybe. His feet also look like hooves, but that's probably the armour.

Blackwall is a common surname.

I don't think its given name. I think it comes from two things. 

 

Tainted - black 

To protect - wall 

 

It's like a summation of his existence. Or maybe I'm overthinking it

Like the guys above said. It's a surname. Perhaps it's how people identify him. A la Hawke and Shepard. I like it. Pretty sure it's British so a possible native of Ferelden?

Based on the concept art of him reacting to Sera's joke, I think we can conclude he has a sense of humour in there somewhere .

This is my favorite companion revealed so far. The design itself makes me want him in my party at all time.

I like the name. I'm also hoping Blackwall has opinions/info about our Warden's decisions in Awakening. I was hoping for more of that in DA2, but well...

Blackwall.......interesting, but its going to take some getting used to, I've become so used to him being called Feathers and Beardy McWarden on these threads, same with DHMG, I'm so used to that now, any normal sounding name is gonna be a bit boring.

Cassandra looks more like Biff Sledgefist, Solas has an abnormal head and oddly elongated face, Iron Bull has a tiny little head, Cole has 'sadsack Donte' disease, Sera looks like Emma Stone's meth-head sister, and now Bear Warden looks homeless. The devs keep going on and on about how gorgeous the game is but they can't seem to make gorgeous characters to save their lives.

Er, that's a matter of opinion. I think Cassandra, Vivienne and 'Dorian' are all plenty gorgeous, and Sera is cute as button. Mr. Blackwall here is a glorious hunk of Bearded Bara Manliness and Varric is ... well, a non-bearded hunk of Manliness. Iron Bull might not be traditionally handsome, but I still wish my dwarf Inquisitior could climb that like a tree.

 

The only one so far who doesn't do much for me personally is Solas. (It's not the baldness. I dig plenty of bald dudes. I think it's his dress sense.) But maybe he has a winning personality!

 

(ETA: If that's really Cole in the group shot, he's a spirit/demon with the mentality of a child, so I don't really want to speculate on his attractiveness. And all we have so far is one not-very-good picture anyway.)
