I thought Dorian is "surprise meetballs".
Introducing Blackwall, "the Resolve", formerly known as Bearded Grey Warden.

I think he has to be the shortbread.
(I think that DHMG/Dorian is the stawberry parfait and Cole is the wax fruit.)
Oh yeah, we already have all the foods, don't we?
He's rump roast then, I think Cullen is shortbread.

Either we have more possible food than there are companions, or some of them represent the advisors.
Given that Patrick Weekes said that Iron Bull was either a chilli dog or rump roast, I think it's the former not the latter. We don't know for sure, though!

Where did we get those foods from anyway?
Also, Iron Bull is totally a chilli dog. Maybe not the best looking thing in the world but oh maker... do you crave it when you know it's no good for you.

Blackwall, Cassandra and Sera are probably my favourite of the companions so far. I can see me rolling with them for as long as possible if they remain such.

Why are so many of the companions so... ugly? Cassandra looks more like Biff Sledgefist, Solas has an abnormal head and oddly elongated face, Iron Bull has a tiny little head, Cole has 'sadsack Donte' disease, Sera looks like Emma Stone's meth-head sister, and now Bear Warden looks homeless. The devs keep going on and on about how gorgeous the game is but they can't seem to make gorgeous characters to save their lives.
Your warden is ugly.

Only three females out of the companions. Leliana is not a companion and Scribe Girl, although not confirmed, is probably one of the advisers.
5vs4 is acceptable to me. But 6vs3 is really meh.

Either a clever reference or a diss against the riding psycho. He looks too much like The Mountain. And that gives me a headache.
If the first, I applaud you. If the second, I advice you to run, cause maulin be acomin'.

Indeed, but if you take it as 7vs5 it looks much better.

From what I read it (this might be very very wrong, pleas don't lynch me if it is) the advisors will get as much focus as the companions.

It is a great addition that we have advisors now. And we could send them off for quests and stationed at certain fortress? But still companions are very important as they are the ones that you will spent time the most to me. 6:3 is a real screw up to me. Bias is bias.

I would like to think the term "Social Justice Warrior" should be the last one someone uses as an invective against someone else, as that would imply that they think fighting for Social Justice is a bad idea... which is just silly.
Whining on a message board does exactly nothing to further anyone's rights. 'Social Justice Warriors' on the internet are a punchline because they're worthless and irritating in their demand that everyone meet their personal standards of political correctness.

Really? Huh. They remind me a little of you.
This is an age old internet debate that's happened a million times on these forums already and if you're really so determined to have it again, you're welcome to PM me, but all bringing it up here will do is upset people and get the topic shut down.
I'm not even going to add a smiley to this. That's how serious I am right now. So serious. I don't take anything seriously. Look what you've done.

Was there ever a ruler or tyrant in history who didnt fight for social justice?

I don't like the latest image of Blackwall particularly, especially if that is his official design. It's boring. His previous artworks were far more appealing to me. That being said, he's still my favorite, which is kind of sad when I think about it. I guess my standards have to be really low this time around. I don't normally have a complaint with biwoare characters, but the roster isn't my favorite so far. Maybe that will change.

Meh, to me including 5:4 just for the sake of nearing equality is silly. They felt the story would be better served with the companions they added. Could they have switched one or two of the characters for opposite genders? Maybe, but that might have had a negative impact on the story.
Including a quota simply for the purposes of 'gender equality' is not actually gender equality, it is an artificial layer added to satisfy politically correct nonsense.
Having said that I would love a non-romancable varric style female buddy character, but no rush, it'll come sooner or later.

yeah I'm not sure I like it either, it makes it sound like he's going to be some depressing, all work and no play sort of character.
Judging by some concept art where he has a giant grin, I think he will have a good sense of humor. I dont think that will be a giant part of his personality but it will be there.

Bias implies they specifically decided to favor men over women. It is a great addition that we have advisors now. And we could send them off for quests and stationed at certain fortress? If you read David Gaiders thoughts on the matter, you'd learn that the characters aren't custom made to fit in with this some grand status quo many here assume true (including me, previously). They write various character concept and pick the ones they deem interesting.
In fact this shows that they are actually biased towards equality as a relatively even split, 7 to 5, shows they aren't male centric.
Simply changing the gender of one of the male companions would work from a objective point of view but you can't really apply that because you just don't mess with a writers vision for a character. A gender switch changes a lot about a character. It's undeniable. In fact the irony is that people who are advocating for more women are actually making gender a big deal themselves, while claiming it shouldn't be.
Also the "companions are way more important than fringe NPCs" is rubbish. The advisors are set to play a significant role in the Inquisition and will be far more involved than Traynor and Steve were. If you judge a companions worth by whether they follow you around or not, then that's your problem not BioWare's.
