Flemeth is a bit like Little finger from GOT you don't know what she wants. We'll have to wait and see.

Define great feat. I consider removing people who train for years to counter your kind with a snap a great enough feat. And he did it to a full squad of them. Also he did not even receive a scratch when fully stabbed by a sword. And when we try to kill him Vengeance does not interfere so maybe that is why he dies. Maybe same thing would have happened if Vengeance did something. It is an speculation but its a good one because its quite possible as long his short story is canon which it is until Bioware says otherwise.

Also as I said there is always the vigils keep. "Hundreds of darkspawn corpse without a physical wound, all slain with magic". And that was before Vengeance.

and let me add that he did all this, and is all this ,all while dealing with a very unfortunate past full of hunting templars , caged in a tower since twelve ,solitary confinement for a year ,and losing his first love and dearest friend on his own hands because of an unfair faith . and still he's not a pill of broken pieces ,and still he stood up and fought for what was left of him : his indentity ,this gift that made his friends and fellows's life a constant battle of maltreat and hidding .and whats the future holding for the born mages .

justice is just a small piece in all this strength , Anders was strong from the start ,mentally and physicaly . Justice saw the unjustice and offered a help because this is not a simple quest . this is about freeing a whole kind across the the world.

So, i choose the give him a piece of happiness a distant ray of light that will come to him knocking at his door one day.

for me dragon age 2 was half about anders than anyone else ...

Of all the kinds of mages in DA universe, I like the dalish keepers the most (even if I dont like the elves very much). The reason is that they have the most similarities to the wizards we see in the works of Tolkien and Martin.

I don't really like the version of a mage that uses his abilities as a conventional weapon. I enjoy the concept of magic being a mysterious force that is expressed through common actions. Like enchanting voice/language, visions, dreams, and other subtle supernatural abilities. Of course spells have to be a part of it, but not like conjuring a pyroblast and headshotting the enemy. When I think of spells I think of preparation, rituals, concentration. When I think of wizard I think of observer, guide and facilitator.

Magic in DA is well understood and very practical. There is the fade and mages have a connection, and with this connection they cast spells. There is nothing cryptic about it.

Main reason I don't play mages in DA other than technical runs for completion sake.

I also fell in love with magi, largely due to the works of Tolkein and Martin. I agree that magic is more intriguing as a more mysterious less tangible source in the world. Keepers are also awesome. This is the main reason why my Mage Inquisitor will be an elf/Dalish, more magical mysteries!

Ok, I'm going to come out of left field with this one.

In general I'm going to say that the Rivaini seeresses are the strongest magi in Thedas closely trailed by the Dalish Keepers. I say this because of Rivain's lax attitude toward magic and the fact that Rivain is a cultural melting pot influenced by both Qunari and Thedosian culture. This perhaps gives it's people a more impartial and broad-minded approach to everyday life (this includes magi). I think the seeresses (when they're not confidence women) fall into the mystic hedge mage category that Flemeth and her daughters belong to without the stigma of being 'abominations of legend'.

The Dalish come in at number two because they're too focused on discovering and preserving secrets of the past to try anything new. What they do have is powerful but limited. Tevinter may have the organization and institutions, but it's reliance on Blood Magic being the end-all be-all blinds them from seriously looking into other possibilities. The rest of Thedas' magi lack the privilege of serious research and experimentation. The Qunari probably experiment on ways to counter magic if at all.

Now if we're talking important people such as protagonists, companions, and NPCs... like I said before; Ferelden is a nation chock-full of potential badasses just waiting to turn into kinetic badasses. Ferelden's main export is heroes.

I'm just commenting to ask, is seeress a word? I didn't think Seer was a gendered term.

Well, typically a female seer was an Oracle.

Yup. And I used seeress because of what I read in a codex. I'm sure there are male seers too.

Huh. Didn't realize that. But then again I tend to be very bad about how words are supposed to end and which ones are gendered and which gendered ending are you supposed to use, tor, trix, ess. English is my native language and yet it never stops confusing me.
