Orlisian City Elves have French accents (See Anora's chamber maid.) So if they had city elves then it would be for both humans & Elves
It's already been confirmed that PC elves are Dalish.

I think adding 2 voices for the inquisitor was a waste of resources, i would have rather seen a single voice (american maybe? it´s the easiest to sell) for the protagonist.
I just know that when i find something in the game slightly incomplete, i will think: "if only bioware had not wasted resources". I already consider the male/female voice to be a resource drain, but it is a fair trade for the option of playing two genders. However a new voice just for the sake of a slightly different english pronounciation? That is just crazy. When i play as male american inquisitor, then there will be other 3 voices (male british and 2 female voices) that are not being used.
I hope this resource drain did not affect much the quality of the game.
That's funny, to me it adds quality. I'm going to playthrough at least 3 times (what I did for DA2, which was hard considering the environment never, ever changed) but more likely 5 times (I'm up to 8 Origins playthroughs now, but only 5 within the first year the game was out), so having different voices for different playthroughs helps a lot. And its not just that a little accent changes, the entire VA changes, so that is a big difference.
And don't be so selfish, just because you personally don't use a feature doesn't mean it shouldn't be included. Did you think 5 out of the 6 Origins were a waste of resources because you only played one of them? Or is the return of race choice a waste? Maybe even gender choice....
Riordan was a native of Ferelden (raised in Highever according to the wiki), yet he had a French accent. So even if the human Inquisitor ends up being a native of Orlais, it's not impossible for him/her to have a non-French accent. One of the Inquisitor's parents could easily have been from Ferelden or some other country, which could have had a considerable influence over the Inquisitor's developing accent while he/she was growing up.
For whatever reason, I don't sound like a local from Hawaii because I never picked up the pidgin accent that a lot of people who grew up here ended up with - this is despite having been born and raised in Hawaii my whole entire life (not to mention hearing pidgin spoken a lot at school). I sound like I grew up somewhere on the mainland and have a standard American English accent. Outliers can - and do - exist.
hence, the Had. I wish City Elves where playable. It's already been confirmed that PC elves are Dalish.

Especially after Masked Empire.
Yeah, considering how the past two DA novels were Orlesian related and Orlais has a very prominent role in this game, it would have just made sense for the Inquisitor to be from Orlais but yet again for the 3rd damn time, the main character is from Fereldan.
Like I'm not trying to sound like a Negative Nancy or anything but I'm really, REALLY tired of Ferelden. Even in DA2 which took place in Kirkwall you couldn't go a scene without someone mentioning Ferelden
"You're Ferelden aren't you?"
"Watch what you say about my countrymen!"
"Do you miss Ferelden?"
"Do you ever wish to return to Ferelden?"
I love DA I really, really do and I love the world of it...but I am so tired of Ferelden....

I want Navarra.
Come on Prussia equivalent! Lets take over the world!
What I hope is that the human Inquisitor is Orlesian anyway, just from an area along the Fereldan border. It's not nearly as cool as the accent would be
, but we could still be more Orlesian in background. That would help, but the lack of that specific accent choice would still be disappointing. There's 95% good news with this game though, including having voice options at all. That part alone is very good news.
Don't get me wrong, I want a Orlesian Inquisitor too ![]()
I totally get that people are tired of being Ferelden, but tbh I'm glad we're not having to play an Orlesian; french accents aside, they're whole culture as shown so far is just so pretentious and unappealing to me. Holding out hope for a Tevinter or Nevarran protagonist sometime in future games, as those sound like they would provide a more significant shift in perspective anyways.
