They are the "best of the best" and the last line of defence.... With the Earth DLC Bioware gave us some good characters. A lot has already been said about them, but among all the "appreciation" threads the N7 are yet missing.

So why not create a N7 appreciation thread. ^^

wallpaper-018-earth-1920x1080.jpg

And to start, here are some questions you can think about:

1. Which of the N7 characters do you use most and why? Does he/she make it to your top 5 characters?

2. Create a combination for a duo and use at least one N7 in it.

3. Which, in your opinion, is the easiest N7 kit for beginners? (If they have it of course)

In general, give us your thoughts about the N7's. ;) When are they great, when do they suck?

And any cool pics? Show us!

1. None. I don't really play Earth DLC characters anymore.

2. Paladin and Demolisher.

3. Paladin. If you are on console, Slayer.

They are really good kits. But then I don't like Destroyer because he's slow. Fury on host trivializes the whole game, so I don't play. Off host too much rage, so I don't play either. Shadow and Demolisher are kinda meh to me. Paladin is really good too, but I'd feel bad to have all the team detonating my SF. And Slayer is really fun.

1: Paladin.

2: Paladin/Slayer has been one of the most fun duos I've done personally (Vancouver Platinum, I forget the enemy) No mic, just wordless communication. Friend requests were sent afterwards; it was a random PC pug.

3: Destroyer or Demolisher, probably Destroyer. (Demolisher benefits too heavily from Grenade V to really say it's the best starting N7)

All of my N7's are Canadian. (I'm Canadian, surprise surprise.)

My Paladin is Mapleshield, for instance. They are all coloured accordingly. Except the Fury. She is Battletits.

2. N7 Shadow and QME.

3. N7 Paladin. Spamming that Snapfreeze all day.

1. 3 way tie between Slayer, Fury and Destroyed. Shadow always holds a spot but doesn't quite fit my style
2. Fury and Paladin. Biotic explosions and tech bursts galore
3. Probably Destroyer, otherwise Slayer if on host

1. Fury, Shadow, Demolisher. Lurve all of them.
2. Destroyer/Demolisher Thunderboredome.
3. Fury, if they know how to run and BE. Destroyer, otherwise.
4. No pics yet. (On pc, I still need to unlock cullahs.)

Well, I don't use them that much, but if I had to choose, it would be the Paladin. (yes, snap cheese haters, come at me) I'm not much into biotic kits and the weapon/grenade combo of the Destroyer or Demolisher are just boring.

Once I was in a game where the host was using the Slayer and I was using the Paladin. Great combo, lots of explosions and a really smooth game. I can imagine Fury and another biotic kit being really great.

Now I have a question to the more experienced players: Do you know if using a cyclonic- and thus increasing the shields- on the Slayer increases the damage output of his PD? Just wondering...

2) Two Furies, Glacier/Cerberus/Gold.
3) Destroyer.

1. Demolisher. She's at the top ten, but the top 5 is occupied by my powerhouses. The Paladin is also in the top 10, but I don't use him much anymore.
2. Paladin/Demolisher
3. Destroyer. Nothing tricky about it. Just point and shoot. And occasionally ****** everyone off with multi-frags and Hawk.

It censored p*ss. What the actual... Nevermind.

1- Slayer, because he can use his three powers in a row if you hide one of the cooldown with Phase Disruptor. Top 5, yes.

2- Slayer and Paladin. Tons of explosions.

3- Paladin (a short range power which goes through wall, one which hits instantly, repair his shields and can give him 40% DR and one which can be cornered) or Shadow (because Tactical Cloak mainly).

1. Furry, because speed and shotguns to the face. I have no idea, what could be my top 5 characters and I don't care.
2. Paladin&Slayer, Demolisher&Destroyer, Furry&Shadow.
3. For beginners as in they suck too or just fresh manifest? Paladin and Slayer, if they suck, Paladin, Slayer and Fury, if just fresh manifest.

Out of the N7 characters I use the Destroyer a lot. I'm only an OK player and I tend to play with some friends who aren't quite as good yet. When we venture onto higher difficulties it is handy for me to have a tough, reliable character such as the Destroyer as it provides the team with a solid base that's likely to survive even if others are falling.

On lower difficulties I probably see more Destroyer PUGs than other N7 kits. It's a very simple kit to use. Devestator Mode and Hawk Missiles can be turned on and forgotten about, leaving only Multi Frags to think about (if they're specced). Otherwise all that you need to do is equip a gun, point it at enemies and hold down the fire trigger. If Devestator Mode is engaged you don't even have to think about dodging.

I like playing all of the N7 kits but I'm less impressed with their aesthetics. With the exception of the Demolisher, they all just look and sound like they're trying too hard. Super elite special forces troops shouldn't be so insecure as to insist in going into battle wearing scary hoods or trench coats! The Destroyer sounds so butch it's ludicrous. The Slayer and Shadow are stupidly showy with their dodges and their swords. The Paladin isn't too bad but the shield does feel like he read too many Captain America comics as a child.  :)

Fury, with Slayer being a goddamn close second. So close that they both make my top 3 of characters.

Fury + DrellGod trololol.

Destroyer.

I can only agree with that. Fury/Slayer lead my top 5, can't decide between them.

Fury and DrellGod- both fast, both furious, nothing more to say about that. Maybe I would also pair the Fury with a DrellDept. Explosions everywhere! :wizard:

Fury + drelldept is just as amazing. I chose the DrellGod so as to make the gameplay even more dynamic. Besides, if they manage to keep close as they should, you're gonna see as many splosions as with the drelldept ;)

1. Shadow and Paladin. Neither make it into top 5. Shadow is in my top 10, though.

2. Paladin and Human Engineer

3. Paladin and Destroyer

Tbh, outside of shadow and paladin, I am not a big fan of N7 characters. They are all powerful, sure but I just don't like the others.

My thoughts:

Destroyer - marry a wall for RHA and you're golden :P Melee build is actually quite good.

Slayer and fury - Monsters on-host but are very vulnerable off-host (can be made to work but you won't get that OP feel like on host)

Paladin - Snap cheese, hard to go wrong. Melee is very good.

Demolisher - chuck grenades everywhere - hard to go wrong. Melee is quite fun but not as good as paladin or shadow.

Shadow - Another character that is vulnerable off host.

-The Slayer.

-The Slayer+Valkyrie/Justicar.

-Destroyer.

-They're great in the hands of any decent player, they suck when those touched by the Genophage (not-decent players) choose to wield them--just like everything else.

Am I the only one who when first watching the trailer for the Earth DLC and hearing Anderson go: "The reapers hit without warning" went:

Orc+rolled+image+Oh+boy+another+religion

Good time. Anyhow, back to the topic.

1. N7 Destroyer because it's one of the few kits on which I genuinely enjoy the Typhoon and he's a good all round weapons platform. It's not one of my top 5, no.

2. N7 Paladin and a kit with chain overload for maximum cheese.

3. Demolisher- throwing infinite grenades is a fairly easy tactic to execute, very new player friendly. Also to a lesser extent the N7 Destroyer, turn on DM at drop-off and don't worry about using powers for the rest of the game.

1. The N7 Destroyer gets the most game time from me of all the N7's, his slow but dependable playstyle suits me well.

It might take him a little longer to reach the foe, but he makes up for it by murdering them so quick.

Dunno about who'd be in my top 5 though.

2. KroSol + N7 demolisher, utterly destroys spawns with impunity.

"Oh grenade spawning rose of earth!"

3. N7 demolisher again.

No guns, gear or consumables required to use her on gold reasonably effectively, just chuck arc grenades at everything.

It's kinda a shame that half the N7's have such issues offhost (Fury, Slayer, Shadow strike specced Shadow), it makes them rarer in pugs than you might expect.

The slayer's a ******* killing machine, but his host dependency stops me from using him regularly. :(
