Now i know many of you like to play with the mouse and keyboard as it is more sensitive and acurate, well so do i, but now and again i would like to play a game like this from my sofa, if it was already mapped for an xbox pad why in gods name would you then take it out of a game rather than just adding the keyboard and mouse support, i dont understand how all other games have the option but as is always bioware fail to manage to do both, just because we have a pc bioware it does not mean that we would like the ability to play with a controller taken away fom us, what is everyone elses thoughts on this as i know for sure if the next game has'ent got controller support in it i for sure wont be buying it along with thousands of others that hate the lack of controller support.
Controller Support for pc

Completely agree LatexPlague...
Just returned my Mass Effect 3 purchase from Origin as it has no controller support. Not big into mouse/keyboard gaming as I play from my sofa.
May pick it up second hand for my Xbox now instead.
If ME4 is the same... i won't be buying it.

Its one of a few reasons why I don't play on my computer. I have ME1 and ME3 on the pc and I have to play on the lowest difficulty since I constantly have to look to make sure I'm pushing the right key.
For now, I'm content to play on my ps3.

My first experience with ME was ME1 on Steam. I could not wrap my head around the controls and gave up before encountering the first enemies in the first mission they were so frustrating.
It was only when a friend loaned me her copy of ME1 to try on my 360 that I really got into the game. (And the same issue has been true for every Bioware game I've tried - Dragon Age, KOTOR, etc.)
Amazing games but terrible mouse+keyboard controls and unforgivable lack of Gamepad support on PC. I feel forced to play on console what I want to play on PC because of it.

This!
My Gaming PC is conected to my TV and stands in my living room,so using keyboard and Mouse is no Option.
I had to resell my PC Version of ME 2 and bought a used copy of the Xbox Version, but since i had seen the far superior PC Graphics,it took away a lot of Joy.I did not evan bother for ME3,because i felt forced to choose between bad Graphics or uncomfortable controls.I get, that games like RTS,Moba or mmo are sometimes not playable with a Controler, but not implementing pad support on a Game, that exists on Console too, just shows a compleatly lack of effort.Since i stick with playing geme on PC from now on and not buying a Console again,i just want to point out:
I will never again buy a Game of yours which paralel exists on Console and PC BUT does not support Gamepads in the Computerversion.

First of all, I just want to point out that I am in no way trying to insult those PC gamers that choose to solely use keyboard/mouse configuration. It is just my preference to use a gamepad. Having used consoles for so long, i have been unable, albeit possibly unwilling, to make the change.
with that being said, gamepad support for this franchise is a must. it will always be user preference on what method of controlling a game they wish to utilize. Why does bioware feel the need to make that decision for them? Also, so many PC gamers are switching to HTPC set-ups in their living rooms, where using a mouse/keyboard setup is not plausible. ever tried to play a shooter game with your mouse on the arm rest of the lay-z-boy? not a pleasant experience. for these folks, a controller is just the better option.
I thoroughly enjoyed all three ME Games, but not on my pc as I would have liked to. I had to submit myself to the tedium of XBOX graphics in order to play this great trilogy. I am begging the teams at EA games and Bioware to add controller support for the next installation of this series. Sadly, I must agree with TheGlover's last statement. I very much want to play ME 4, but i refuse to purchase a another console or be forced to play with a mouse/keyboard.

Also, I would like to hear from EA/Bioware as to why they felt the need to deprive us all from gamepad support. As I understand, it was a conscious decision to omit the controller support

It was conscious. Probably based on just 2 things. Cost #1. as in unnecessary as they saw it. And number 2 they probably felt a PC gamer would simply map Xbox 360 or PC type control functions to their PC Game Pads, Keypads, Joysticks, and flight/driving simulators as they saw fit via "XPADDER" or some other voluntary program. I'm not saying I don't agree that some basic native controller support wouldn't have been nice or preferable. I'm just saying I can see their side too. And they probably view the PC gamer as a much more sophisticated & technically involved gamer. One who likes to do his/her own accessory mapping. I think you can even map voice commands to ME2 and ME3 via Kinect 1.0 for PC or your own Logitech camera/mic rig. So bottom line is this. It is highly unlikely they were being Jarheads in omitting controllers for PC. Most likely they were giving PC gamers unlimited flexibility to program it the way they wanted it, between multiple devices. Patient time invested in doing it that way on PC should theoretically yield the superior gameplay results.
