That and which species we get to play.

I think it's obvious. If Mass Effect was more like Start Trek where being an alien doesn't matter then it would open more doors to who you could play.

We'll see. It's a bit early to tell yet. I think it'd be a blast to role-play a quarian or an asari or a turian or a salarian and of course a krogan. Member of Aralakh Company, one of Grunt's chosen few... cuz ya know, Grunt might only be a few hundred years old, more or less... depending on how far into the future the story is. It'd be awesome if the game were an "origins" type thing, and Grunt was my boss, setting up my first several missions as my origin.

That is if BioWare canons him as alive though. If they "are" continuing the Shepard universe, then the krogan are still broken. :S Lol, Grunt's gonna be your battlemaster?

Yeah, if I were able to play a krogan, that'd be a cool way to begin it. With Grunt. Start things off right, Bio!

I wouldn't say Psyched like I was with ME3. Hopefully, the new team will be better than Edmonton's.

At the moment the answer has to be no. Until more information about at what point in the ME timeline the game will take place, and where in the ME universe it will happen then I shall remain as I am - interested enough to logon and post in the forums for the first time in an age but certainly not as excited as I was when ME3 was announced, screaming for them to take my money.

The ending to ME3 really left me disillusioned with the whole franchise, and I will be honest, it is going to take something special to get me back to where I once was.

If it's a sequel I'm more than skeptical. It would be terrible of Bioware to make one of the endings canon, and it would be almost impossible to make separate worlds based on each ending.
I mean - the geth could be alive or dead, all life could be a fusion of synthetic and organic, the reapers could either be your best friends or under control.

*Mordin Voice* too many variables.

I really don't know where this game is going to be set, so I'm going to wait before I make up my mind. Right now though, I'm eager and excited to learn more.

As others have said, the scene with the galaxy map looks cool. But until I have more information about the next ME game I won't worry about it. I'm just concerned with DAI and waiting for its release in October.

Actually, yes.

I didn't think anything would match my hype for ME3, but I'm really pumped to see where the series is going to go.

It looks more than cool - it looks like Andromeda. It clearly isn't a traditional spiral galaxy. It looks like they may have taken the advice of people here (including myself) who proposed jumping ship to a new galaxy as the perfect way to avoid canonizing an ending in a sequel. My guess is they will go the "ark ship" route and somehow hand wave away the fact that the FTL drives in mass effect couldn't make it very far without discharging.

Yeah, it's going to take more than a few pretty lights to make me forget ME3

I doubt anyone's "forgetting" about ME3 based on the minute or so of no-context footage we saw at E3.

That was two bloody years ago, though. Everybody's moving on and moving forward, as they should.

Are you psyched for ME4?   Or are you going to approach its release with caution reading user reviews before purchasing the game?

Then, there is the third option, where you're just like me and you were burned by ME3.  If you're like me, you don't care about ME4 in the slightest except for a curiosity as you stand by and observe it but I would never buy another thing from EA ever again.  This is just my personal opinion and I know that its not going to happen but Bioware should go back and fix ME3 (at least a better Priority Earth mission with war assets that matter).

You know, they say that an improved ME3 isn't going to happen, well then neither is a purchase from me and a number of other disgruntled gamers who are NOT a minority.

Only a few disliked the decision that where made with this game but it turned out for the best I don't agree with EA 100% BioWare itself is fine I believe we can expect something great... The real fans are silent there not commenting munch with disgruntled gamer's there just going to be there when M.E.4 drops.

Would this be considered as a real fan?

I'm excited for whatever is coming. I'm not letting the ending of ME3 temper my love for the MEU. I love Bioware games and I think as a whole they put out quality product. For this reason, my disappointment in ME3's conclusion will not prevent me from enjoying the next few games. I know ME3 is a huge factor for other players, but for me... I'm just excited to play.

DAI, ME4 and the concept of their next IP gives me shivers.

Guess I'm a gamer first and a hater last.

Only those who take a Garrus body pillow, a bottle of wine, and a hammer with them to bed every night.

The ones on the secret spreadsheets who actually loved ME3's ending, I guess.

Where'd they say that the information they gathered showed that people loved ME3's ending?

I think it was Twitter. Jessica Merizan said there was data that showed the ending reception differently.

Right, I know where it originates, but she never said that the ending was loved.

She did, however, in subsequent interviews about the period following the game's release, suggest that the difference between fans wanting to retool and completely purge the ending was different based on her information.  It'd be easy to see where she'd reach that conclusion, since so many people wanted so many different things.

Right. The data would have been very noisy. All of the fuss over EMS requirements for the breath clip, for instance, would have obscured chatter from folks saying that the clip wasn't doing it for them anyway.
