"Multiplayer".
I have a sinking suspicion that MP is going to take huge precedent over SP quality.
I'd say it's more worrying if that is their showpiece.
It's practically confirmed at this point that Dragon Age Inquisition has no multiplayer at all.
Agreed. I see no evidence of it and if it were in, today would've been a good time to unveil it.
Is it just nit picking when we assault the UI? Especially when its such a minor feature of the game. To what else there is to show with the UI anyway.
Something you're going to see for most of the game is a minor feature? Nothing irks me more than a clunky ugly UI. That will kill tend any desire I have to replay a game.

The health bars almost have to be segmented. I'd have to find the developer comments, but I'm pretty sure health will only regenerate to X amount out of combat (and the % depends on the difficulty I believe). So they have to show what amount of health max you'll have outside combat. Besides that, I honestly don't care how they present it. It also looks like this wasn't a continuous gameplay. The health of the dragon bounces up and down, so it looks like they showed various points in the fight that looked the most interesting. I do hope they didn't do away with some of the cross-class tactics from DA2. It was IMO one of the best parts about the gameplay in DA2
I'll be the first to admit I'm not a huge gameplay person (storyline and characters matter a heck of a lot more to me), but I really think the combat in DA2 was much better than the combat in DAO. I realized it one afternoon when I stopped in the middle of DA2 playthrough to go back and play DAO. DAO felt soooo much slower, especially as a mage. And honestly? I think the only reason you didn't see as much "over the top" action moves in DAO was that they didn't have the graphics to support it. Watch the original trailer from DAO with the way Leliana moves around.
the camera is too close to the characters

Don`t think so, but she did glow and sparkle. Rogue + mage hybrid class, I guess.

Finally get to hear the feminquistors voice. ![]()
If you look past the graphics, there isn't anything substantial going for it. At its foundation, the feeling I get is DA2 repackaged with a more open environment & better visuals. Everything else looks shallow.

I'm 80% certain that was from a group buff Viv cast.
And for everyone complaining about the Length:
The EA Conference isn't where we would expect to see a 30 min demo, each game gets 10min tops (apart from BF apparently). Tomorrow, when individual organizations get the opportunity to do one-on-one's with bioware is where we can expect the 30 min demos. Tomorrow we have a 30min Twitch and a 30min IGN interview (maybe it was 20min, I forget), so we can expect some nice contiguous combat sements then.
To be fair . Not impressed by what was shown at E3 and I agree with those Health bar being ugly. It's does not look very professional.
The demo at Pax was much more better or the gameplay trailer.. They tried too hard to make the fight with the dragon cinematic. Seriously stop with the vertical slice overdosing.
Also, too much Vaseline on Vivienne.... I mean gosh... I know she's black (so am I) but she slaps that stuff like...wow

Not to be rude but that comment i think is just wrong and is not backed by anything. Nothing we saw implies that

Wow, everyone's already complaining about the UI.
Honestly, as long as it doesn't freeze the game, I'm fine.

UI in a RPG goes a long way towards immersion. Don't underestimate it. Did not like Skyrim's, hated DA2's. Hopefully they bring back some of the antiquated papyrus charm Origins had going for it in the final product.
I hope the UI is temporary. It's really quite ugly. But we'll see how it goes closer to release.
The graphics in general seem good, albeit the poor recording quality doesn't help.
The over-the-top animations, well, that one was a given wasn't it? DA has been like that since Origins, they just didnt quite have the graphics to manage it I'd wager. I know of no game that keeps realistic or even realistic looking combat, especially among RPGs. As long as mechanics are good and we don't get people dropping from rooftops and exploding like in DA2, it's not a big concern, but I would have liked them to tone down the backflips and stuns like that regardless.
The dragon itself, however, looks friggin amazing. The design is quite nice, it's got a name (nice touch!) and it has weight. The Skyrim dragons dissapointed me because of that; they had no weight to them, no wingbuffets, they turned on a dime like hummingbirds and didn't impact the environment they were in. That dragon is a dinosaur with wings and seems to move like one, and it looks awesome. The fire is also quite pretty.
The voices seemed overloud and over common.
Not much sign of tactics, though of course we did a get a quick note that hey tactical camera and pause exists afterwards.
"Vivienne! Sera! Uaarghh!"
Yeah, the combat shouts were a lot louder than the actual sound effects but I'm sure this won't exist in the final product.
the health bars I though were fine, not so sure about the portraits and the power "circle" though.
NUMIDIUM!!
