@Gladiatorium: I wouldn't expect a new Mass Effect game (if that's what the name will be, which I doubt tbh) before next year, if I were you...

To be fair, it wouldn't take much for the ridiculously-enhanced minds in the Synthesis ending to just, y'know, flip the green switch off. But yeah, I strongly doubt they're going headlong into canonizing green.

How is ME4 even possible, given the ending of ME3?

3 endings are not that bad Bethesda ( who is not good a making a story imo) did it with 6 (tes 2 daggerfall) so im sure bioware can do 3

Like I said before, your ME story can just end there, like if your Shepard died in ME2. There isn't much else to say about the Synthesis ending other than never ending galactic peace. They said that they wanted us each to have our own unique ME universe, and if you ask me, it fits right with what they said they wanted.

If you want to get technical, The Elder Scrolls series doesn't exactly have a linear timeline.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned, heard, or thought of this, but I personally thought that depending on your choices at the end of the trilogy, and if you had a romance at any point in the series, that in the next game (if it's set far enough ahead in time) it would be interesting for your character to be Shepard's son/daughter. Not sure if that's not "moving forward" and people wouldn't like the idea, or if it would cause too much restrictions on where the game is going in the series, but it was just a thought.

Many of the romantic relationships in Mass Effect can't bear children. They could be adopted, I guess, but ... eh. Let's not.

Think about how they dealt with ME1 and ME2 endings/choices and you get the basic of it,

All the effects will be shown in dialog and with background/news stories but in terms of story you will not see any effect.

If any of Shepard's squadmates/LIs are mentioned(at least if ME:Next is a sequel), they might be vaguely mentioned in news reports, by NPCs, or even in certain Codex entries. But that would be about it.

In other news, Journeys of A Prothean, written by Dr. Liara T'Soni, has been released in book stores across the Galaxy. The book contains the insights and experiences of an actual Prothean that was found on Eden Prime years ago in a stasis pod.

In the Preface, Liara T'Soni dedicates the book to her husband, Commander Shepard, and their daughter.

Well since Mac Walters is clearly involved with the next game, I don't have much hope for the story.

People are pretty sensitive about "their" Shepard's and I can already hear the screeches if Bioware dared impose a future child on them.

Mac Walters will also be overseeing the other IPs, meaning he won't be as directly involved with the story like last time. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

What's up with the krogan having a lion's roar? It's around 1:08 in the video. I don't recall the krogan ever roaring before...

A female krogan giving birth might.

What? I thought each and every Shepard wanted to have children.

But he was also responsible for your beloved Mass Effect 2.

You might be locked into being a part of the "elite" military of each race.

Maybe you'll have to be a member of the STG if you're a salarian, an asari commando, etc.

or it could be that the N7 Special Ops teams became a official unit after ME3, meaning that the player could be any races and still be a N7.

Not really considering Drew K laid out the groundwork which they seemed to follow, and I also have my issues with ME2. It wasn't until ME3 where Mac fully took on the reigns, and it shows.

For what it's worth, ME 3 was great until the ending.

Disagree, the game had problems way before the ending hit.

It's possible for someone to just have a bad round, you know. Amy Hennig is on the Mount Rushmore of video game writers, but a lot of people disliked the direction she took Uncharted 3 in. It's pointless to say you should give Mac another chance (since it's your money, do whatever you want) but stinkers aren't out of the ordinary even for great writers (not that I think anything besides the ending stunk).

That's fine if you feel that way. Many disagree but that doesn't mean squat when it comes to whether you'll personally like the next ME game.
