It's just so hypocritical. BioWare/EA said "no day one DLC companions". Now THIS happens. It is repugnant.
It would be hypocritical if they said that and then told everyone "Hey guys, you what we said before? Not so, there is a Day One DLC companion after all."
This, on the other hand, is just timed exclusive content of as-yet unknown nature - as opposed to being Javik the Sequel. It seems unlikely that it will involve a companion (but hey, if it does, then you can accuse them of being hypocritical). My personal opinion of timed exclusive content is "big whoop" - DA:I isn't the only title this has happened on, nor is this the only company to make deals where some content is timed exclusive for a specific platform.
We'll all get access to this mysterious DLC eventually. After all, it doesn't say permanently exclusive to the Xbox One, it says timed exclusive. For all anyone knows, this DLC could be something completely boring like a weapon or an outfit. If the DLC involves some extra quest or a multiplayer map or something like that, then it would be a bit annoying to have to wait a while for access to it, but I personally don't have all that much of a problem with waiting a while.
I have Skyrim, and the time exclusivity didn't bother me all that much as far as that game went because I had lots of stuff to do. None of the quests/content affected the outcome of the main storyline as far as I recall. Look, if we have to pay extra for this mystery DLC and the Xbox One users don't, I think people might have cause for complaints of unfairness. If everyone gets it free and all we have to do is wait a little longer than the Xbox One users, it doesn't really seem like it's worth getting one's knickers in a twist over.
