Tens of Millions of $ and Gaming is a risky industry, having the insurance of already have recouped a say $1 million, of that cost makes investors happy. Or it can be turned back round and given back to the developer as say DLC budget. Or numerous other means. Sorry to say but no, again. No harm is done because you have to wait a week or two due to the choice of gaming machine you made. We are not forced to only ever get one companies consoles. 

 

Why do you keep saying the delay is a week or two? The typical delay in general for timed exclusivity on content is in excess of a month and maybe even a few months in worst case scenarios...not a week or two. Microsoft wouldn't pay them for a single week or two advantage, it is more likely a month or two. Also on a side note I stand by my original post in here and the principles behind it, the belief this action is treating other platform owners (who are just as dedicated over the years to DA and Bioware as those on Xbox One) as second class and it being an unethical business practice that is against the principle of equality...and no I did not equate this situation on the same level as racism or homophobia in relation to your earlier comment.

Not yet they haven't or at least not that I have seen. But most sites I have read believe it will be around a month each time after Xbox One gets it.

1. i believe you have no right to decide how other people should or shouldnt feel. If even 1 person feels that harm is done then harm is done.

2. personally i am not bothered about this timed exclusive and even if i had xbox, i would still choose pc version of DA:I

3. i think people at bioware/ea who was involved in this decision possibly did some calculations and decided that even if it makes some potential customers not buy the game, overall they would still make profit but who knows.

Well that's still better than Ubisoft 's permanent and Destiny's supposedly at least a year PS gets

I am finding it funny, if two people book a holiday, we'll say identical holidays, same hotel same, places they intend to visist same airlines, but using two different travel agencies. For what it's worth here is the confirmation direct from Microsoft's own E3 recap. The exact wording is

“Electronic Arts and the renowned developer BioWare unveiled a new trailer for “Dragon Age: Inquisition” and announced that the first single-player add-on content will arrive first, exclusively on Xbox."

I'm going to go try and weasel more information outta these weasels.

Not Biowares fault and probably not directly EA's but likely because of the partner agreement.

 

No it's EAs.  Microsoft can't come up with good exclives on their own so they pay off EA for DLC first, which doesn't really bother me it means Xbots just beta test it for me first.

I have an Xbone, but I'm playing DA:I on PC, so I was pretty pissed of, but now I'm just going with it since there's nothing I can do about it, and we'll get the DLC eventually.

 

Edit: So for those of you who have never had this happen before. This only means Xbox One will get DLC first but NOT exclusively.

They've been doing that for years now with CoD and Bethesda games, Sony's been doing it on pretty much every Ubisoft game as well as the Arkham series. I don't know when EA started giving extra content for MS but ever since this E3 Ubisoft is doing exclusive content for MS as well as EA is for Sony.

It's all a jumbled mess now. Oh and PC gets the short end of the stick.

If it is not all DLC first on Xbox One I want Bioware to say so because I have read some articles that say all DLC will come first to Xbox One not just first DLC but all DLC in general. So I do have my reasons for thinking it is all DLC because it has been reported on many sites that would be the case. Here is a few of them...

Yeah. Some clarification would be appreciated. I got the impression that all DLC are timed exclusive for Xbox aswell. And how long will it be exclusive? Do we really have to wait for half a year?

First one being timed exclusive I can cope with (still sad about it), but if all the dlc comes to PC and PS4 month or more after Xbone I seriously consider getting my money back from already paid Inquisitors edition and getting DAI used and not bother any of the dlc's. I've supported BioWare always, but I really hope this bites EA in the ass big time. But if it is just the first then I'll continue my support and going to stand first in line at midnight launch
