Sorry i don't believe you never had any issues due to some strange software mess-ups or the game preferring one graphics card or driver over another etc.
Personally, i don't care about mods.
X1/PS4 is not a N64, please... The games look pretty comparable to ones running on a good PC. We will truly only see what both consoles are capable off when they start making games exclusively for them and not last-gen also. The new Assassins Creed for instance looks pretty amazing. Sure it will look even better on a beefy PC but it comes a point where for me it looks good enough.
I've never had any game breaking bugs on PC the only ones I had has been Oblivion and Skyrim which were fixed quite quickly by the modding community,as for the rest depends hows aware you are, when i sit and watch my Cousin play a PS4 game that I have on PC the difference is obvious( low res flat textures, terrible pop in,bad shadows, faded washed out colors.
That's before I even get onto the worst part about console gaming 30FPS@900p even on the few games that claim to be "1080P" its a clear as day that actually its 900p upscaled to 1080P and it looks horrible, so yeah I'd rather spend $20 on a N64 since for what it costs for a PS4/XB1 I can buy another R9 290 Graphics card and a full cover waterblock for it to add to the 2 watercooled R9 290's that I already have.Just a single R9 290 allows me to do something neither console can do play in 2560x1440(2K) at a steady 50FPS which is higher and faster then both consoles could ever manage. with 2 of them Battlefield 4 never dips below 137FPS@1920x1080 or 110FPS@2560x1440.
So in my case buying a console is a total waste of time and money when $600 can buy you the parts to build a PC that walks all over both consoles at 1080P both consoles are a waste of money anyway tbh so I don't see the point of this timed exclusive nonsense since it does not compensate the the multitude of blemishes that come with console gaming.
At least 2 people I know where always "consoles FTW" till I built a computer for one of them and taught the other how to do it himself, they've since declared "we aint never going back to consoles" since they can get all the latest AAA for less, play them at higher resolutions and faster frame rates plus they can play in MP lobbys with more players and dont have to hand MS or Sony $60 a year to play MP. if anything their biggest revelation was how easy it is to build a PC(less then 3hrs).
While mine has cost around £3500 thats inclusive of a 2K 28inch Monitor(£700) of the rest of the cost is down to me building a "balls 2 the wall" rig with 2 4GB GPU's 32GB high end ram,1300W Power Supply,High end Republic of Gamers motherboard and a CPU that runs at 4.4Ghz without any overclock at all about £500 of that cost is on a custom water loop that cools the motherboard,CPU and both Graphics Cards which is not really required the main benefit is my CPU does not get hotter than 62C even when overclocked to.4.9Ghz(XB1 and PS4 can barely reach 2.Ghz) as for the graphics cards even under full load they dont top 50C.If I need more power all I have to do is buy another R9 290 a waterblock for it and 2 compression fittings which would still cost less then a XB1.
So yes mine is right in the uber upper end of what you can build point is though you dont have to spend that kind of money to get a PC that will outperform both consoles, it'll likely take Sony and MS at least another 2 generations to come up with a console that comes even close to what my PC can do with just 1 Graphics Card never mind 2.
Excuse the "Wall O Text" bust as I have said timed exclusive DLC is utterly pointless to me or anyone who has built a computer within the last 3yrs
