This is exactly the reason why i play on consoles. It's just an all around more pleasant experience. I was a PC player till Mass Effect, i bought a 360 just to play that game an never looked back. I remember the last game i played on PC (that was also available on other platforms) was Bioshock where i had that bug where framerates got halved for some strange reasons. It's just a mess. I'm not saying every experience was like that on PC or even the majority but they DO happen once in a while.

I can honestly say the only time I had any issues with bugs in 20yrs of PC gaming is when playing a Bethesda Game, even so the advantage of PC gaming is mods and the mod community anything the dev fails/refuses to fix is usually fixed by the community, so in relation to the OP topic while any kind of platform exclusivity timed or otherwise annoys me it in no way compensates for the massive technological backwards step that is console if I want my games to look that bad and run that slow I'll buy a used N64 for $20

Ahh, ok. Apologies, though I don't understand why EA would make Charge to unlock Lee.

Some people don't want (or can't) put in the work and time to unlock something like that, with Assassin's Creed 4 they introduced "Time Savers" which from the beginning of the game show where all the chests and items are located.

Sorry i don't believe you never had any issues due to some strange software mess-ups or the game preferring one graphics card or driver over another etc.

Personally, i don't care about mods.

X1/PS4 is not a N64, please... The games look pretty comparable to ones running on a good PC. We will truly only see what both consoles are capable off when they start making games exclusively for them and not last-gen also. The new Assassins Creed for instance looks pretty amazing. Sure it will look even better on a beefy PC but it comes a point where for me it looks good enough.

I've never had any game breaking bugs on PC the only ones I had has been Oblivion and Skyrim which were fixed quite quickly by the modding community,as for the rest depends hows aware you are, when i sit and watch my Cousin play a PS4 game that I have on PC the difference is obvious( low res flat textures, terrible pop in,bad shadows, faded washed out colors.

That's before I even get onto the worst part about console gaming 30FPS@900p even on the few games that claim to be "1080P" its a clear as day that actually its 900p upscaled to 1080P and it looks horrible, so yeah I'd rather spend $20 on a N64 since for what it costs for a PS4/XB1 I can buy another R9 290 Graphics card and a full cover waterblock for it to add to the 2 watercooled R9 290's that I already have.Just a single R9 290 allows me to do something neither console can do play in 2560x1440(2K) at a steady 50FPS which is higher and faster then both consoles could ever manage. with 2 of them Battlefield 4 never dips below 137FPS@1920x1080 or 110FPS@2560x1440.

So in my case buying a console is a total waste of time and money when $600 can buy you the parts to build a PC that walks all over both consoles at 1080P both consoles are a waste of money anyway tbh so I don't see the point of this timed exclusive nonsense since it does not compensate the the multitude of blemishes that come with console gaming.

At least 2 people I know where always "consoles FTW" till I built a computer for one of them and taught the other how to do it himself, they've since declared "we aint never going back to consoles" since they can get all the latest AAA for less, play them at higher resolutions and faster frame rates plus they can play in MP lobbys with more players and dont have to hand MS or Sony $60 a year to play MP. if anything their biggest revelation was how easy it is to build a PC(less then 3hrs).

While mine has cost around £3500 thats inclusive of a 2K 28inch Monitor(£700) of the rest of the cost is down to me building a "balls 2 the wall" rig with 2 4GB GPU's 32GB high end ram,1300W Power Supply,High end Republic of Gamers motherboard and a CPU that runs at 4.4Ghz without any overclock at all about £500 of that cost is on a custom water loop that cools the motherboard,CPU and both Graphics Cards which is not really required the main benefit is my CPU does not get hotter than 62C even when overclocked to.4.9Ghz(XB1 and PS4 can barely reach 2.Ghz) as for the graphics cards even under full load they dont top 50C.If I need more power all I have to do is buy another R9 290 a waterblock for it and 2 compression fittings which would still cost less then a XB1.

So yes mine is right in the uber upper end of what you can build point is though you dont have to spend that kind of money to get a PC that will outperform both consoles, it'll likely take Sony and MS at least another 2 generations to come up with a console that comes even close to what my PC can do with just 1 Graphics Card never mind 2.

Excuse the "Wall O Text" bust as I have said timed exclusive DLC is utterly pointless to me or anyone who has built a computer within the last 3yrs

Who are you to deem someone's expenses for their hobby as a waste? It's a luxury item, some people want to spend more for a better experience. If they have the money for it, it can hardly be called a waste.

Who are you

A person with opinions. I already said, if that makes him happy, more power to him. He can spend his money however he wants. I'm just saying i wouldn't spend that much on a PC.

Then you have at least one valid point.

You seem like avoiding my point, which is on PC you sometimes have to work before you can play. I don't want to work when i just want to put the game in and play.

That is what "if you ask me" means...even if it can sound a little ruder than it needs to be. I'm not in a much different position, to be honest. Yeah, there's a difference between 1080p and upscaled 900p, but it's not  mindblowing to me. I'm sure N64 guy disagrees, but I feel like graphical fidelity versus cost and time started to be a diminishing return for PC vs consoles at about the time of the original Xbox. Nothing has really changed. Posts detailing specific resolutions and mad frame rates isn't really going to change anyone's mind. A lot of us do actually know what those look like in action and still don't feel like it provides a worthwhile boost in gaming enjoyment. Opinions.

it does make me happy very very happy, and your right it is a lot of money, however I wont have to buy any new components for another 5-7 years however because I chose my motherboard carefully it can use both Haswell,Haswell Refresh and upcoming Broadwell CPU's so all i have to do is change out the CPU maybe in 5yrs time although what I have is more then powerful for high end gaming for at least 5yrs or more anyway. the only recurring expense i have is 2Ltrs of Mayhems X1 Blood Red Coolant once every 2 yrs which costs £24 less then half the price of a XB1/PS4 game.

As I said though you don't have to spend that kind of money to build a PC that will rape both consoles in 1080P if all you want to do is game in 1080P and you dont care about 2K or 4K then £600-£700 gets you a PC with more then twice the power of a XB1/PS4  and with the discounts you get on games on Steam you'd make back the marginal extra cost of the PC over the console. I already save £60 a year not having to buy XBLG or PSPlus to play online.in the long run if you pick your parts right it makes better value then buying a console

I get Live Gold for like 25 Pounds. If you pay 60 that's your fault. I also don't want to wait for Steam deals on games i want to play as soon as possible.

I think something that most console only gamers don't understand is the greatest benefit to PC gaming is not graphics. First, it's cost effective - even if I pay 800 usd for a PC, that machine does everything I need. Next, it means an open gaming platform that is upgradable. Consoles are inherent DRM systems with fixed hardware. Finally, PC has full digital support when buying. If I want to give all my money in a purchase to Larian, I have that option. With consoles, you never get to fully support the creators.

Yes sometimes you do have to work before you can play depends on the circumstances and the game tbh, If I didn't mind the terrible job Bethesda did of porting Skyrim over from Xbox360 then I could just install it from steam and play straight away as is the case with pretty much any game.

However a large number of PC Gamer's, myself included don't allow ourselves and our gaming experience to be handicapped by the woeful performance of consoles, so we mod our games, more weapons, better hi res textures smarter A.I entire new add on islands complete with a full quested story like Falskarr.

Bet you cn't get this in Skyrim on console :

Ugh all PC gamers are not elitist. I am quite happy gaming at 900p (SHOCK AND HORROR) at 30fps (OMG!!!!) I just like mods and being able to cheat.

Nothing that's what. He continues to reference and only reference Bethesda because modding is not the huge widespread thing he is making it out to be. The amount of games that have (and Bethesdas are a exception) active mod community is a small fraction of PC games and even then the worth while mods are smaller still.

And that's coming from someone active in several mod communities for over a decade. Homeworld 2 Complex and Sins of a Galactic empire (that started from a HW2 mod).

Like the Hardcore vs. Causals the PC master race vs. console gamers are pathetic. One group is just having fun the other group is trying to place themselves as the superior group because how they play games or what platform they choose to play games on.

Well like I said, with the ****ery that went down with Skyrim's DLC, I'll most likely be purchasing an Xbox One for this, despite wanting to get a PS4 first. (I'll probably end up with both anyway though... and still game on PC so come at me).

There are hundreds of mods better showing of what mods can do but honestly I spent more time seeking mods than playing them after a while my skyrim folder eventually was 30 to 40gb large.

Is this timed content even worth caring about? I have a feeling that it's just some miscellaneous perks or items. Bioware has said that the details of future DLC and expansions has yet to be decided. Honestly couldn't give two shits about Xbox fans getting horse armor first.
