That doesn't make it ok. It's anti consumer.
The answer to Microsoft should have been: no. Sorry, we're not going to ****** off our customers to give you a prestige deal that excludes many of them.
What's Microsoft gonna do? Not allow one of the biggest RPG's of the year on their platform? HA!
Most likely this is happening at high levels though. Suit X from EA plays golf with Suit Y from Microsoft and little suit hands are rubbed together, to the detriment of gamers.
Or more likely...
Both companies have figures relating to playerbases on each platform. Dragon Age exclusive DLC to Microsoft might just make more financial sense.

I provided some sources shortly after the initial post your quoted...
I have sought clarification multiple times now from DA team members and I have been stonewalled each time. Given it is a simple question to which they should already know the answer, the stonewalling is adding credence to the concern that it will be all DLC as timed exclusive. Why they cannot give a simple direct answer to a simple legitimate and source provided question is concerning in itself. I am becoming increasingly offended by their silence on this.
It also paint's Allan's comments earlier in here as misleading or maybe as far as a lie about how Bioware are being honest and upfront regarding the issue of the timed exclusive DLC of which he claims that we as consumers are being informed early so we can make decisions ahead of time when given I have asked multiple times on here and twitter to multiple members of the DA team, on gaming sites and other sources plus provided links to explain why my question is legitimate and reasonable as well as on topic of this timed DLC...yet at each and every turn I am being stonewalled and ignored.
My question was simple, I am certain they know the answer and my reasoning was given plus sources shown as to why I feel the question needs to be answered but the only thing I am getting is ignored which I find is a disgusting way to treat their long time customers. If this keeps on I personally would rather stop supporting Bioware and stop buying their products even if I was looking forward to buying the game and have supported them and their products for well over a decade because I am becoming more and more offended by their silence and blatant disregard towards my legitimate and reasonable question the longer this keeps up.
I am simply getting too old to be screwed around over a simple question which requires a simple answer and despite them not potentially caring if lose my custom as I am just one man, my own patience has it's limits and lack of any common human decency on their part cannot be tolerated by me indefinitely despite how reasonable I have been about this so I would rather deprive myself of potentially a good game instead of being treated with contempt by the people who are trying to sell me and others their product, especially one that keeps claiming to be putting consumers first while their actions are shown to be opposed to that right now.
One you do understand it's not your right to get answers on these forums, if a member of the Bioware staff are kind enough to respond here, that's their call, there are things they likely are not able to speak of, either because they don't have the answers or they are not part of the people authorised to give those answers. Demanding or appearing to demand, as you are here such answers, doesn't inspire any of them to rush out and give you them. I rather suspect it just makes them move onto other posts, if they read it at all.
Two Allan himself said he doesn't know the answers you where seeking in the very post your trying to reference, nor is it likely a department he's too concerned about, the DLC terms and conditions department I mean. So apparently demanding he answers you is... yeah.
Three control over the message is rather important, it may also be the exact terms of the deal have not yet been finalised or a million other things
Four.... well I think that will do actually for now.

I have every right to ask for answers though and every right to be offended by the lack of a response plus to take offense at the lie from EA at this years E3 in which they said they were putting consumers first which is opposite to what they are doing here as both Bioware and EA are NOT putting their consumers first on this issue both in terms of the policy and the lack of response, they are not treating them with equal respect across the platforms, it is an anti-consumer action they are taking and it is offensive that they cannot provide a simple answer to clarify what they are expecting people to buy. Especially when this was a big feature/policy they advertised on their product at E3 for DA:I which is a product they are trying to sell me and everyone else.
It seems if you are not playing on the Xbox One you are a second class consumer to EA and to Bioware, one that matters less and is being shown less respect than those on the Xbox One because of the metaphorical 30 pieces of silver Microsoft paid them to treat you that way. The 30 pieces of silver analogy in reference to the betrayal of EA's promise of putting the consumers first, Bioware/EA not treating their short term/long term fans with (equal) respect regardless of platform and not in reference of how much of a financial gain that betrayal was. They brought the topic up when they advertised this news as part of the product and I have every right to ask for clarification, it is their lack of respect for their own fans and consumers plus their silence on this which offends me since they haven't even had the decency to say they cannot give an answer for any reasons whether due to some contractual restraint or internal policy...they are simply ignoring me and others and stonewalling us which is VERY disrespectful.
Make no mistake, I politely asked for clarification many times on twitter to many members of the team originally but my patience is wearing thin and so is my politeness on this issue which is reflected in the tone of my current and future replies the longer I am being stonewalled and treated with contempt. It is that contempt they have for their consumers and long time fans like me who are simply asking for a reasonable and fair clarification on something they advertised which is starting to put me off the game and their future products if carries on rather than the fact they are going down the route of timed DLC itself. They could of replied and said the reason they cannot answer the question is because of x, y or z but they haven't even bothered to do that...they are simply sticking their fingers in their ears and ignoring me and others who asked a simple and reasonable question.
I am 100% sure they know the answer to the question and since they are the ones who have brought the topic up by purposefully advertising it at E3 on their product so they should clarify their position, this is not a question of doing me a favor by letting me know only partial details on what they advertised...they are selling a product and as a consumer I have the right to seek information on what it is they expect me to be buying from them. I am not asking to know how much Microsoft are paying them to betray and treat their consumers as second class but I am asking they clarify something they specifically advertised as a selling feature of their product.

Well said. I do not care about details such as how long will this DLC will be exclusive will Xbox. What I do want to know is if this is story related or just item based. I will have a Xbox One by the time DAI comes out cause I want to play the Halo Master Chief game. However, I refuse to by the Xbone version of DAI as it will be technically inferior to the PS4 version. I hope the Xbone version sells bad.

Think before you speak.
You always expect answers to genuine questions else you would never have asked the question. There is no evidence or any indication I was in any way being rhetorical in my question to Bioware so of course I expected an an answer as would any sane and rational person who asks any non-rhetorical question. Especially in the case of a advertised product policy/feature by them regarding DLC being unknown as to whether it is the first or all DLC being timed exclusive. I have simply been seeking clarification on something they themselves advertised as part of the product they expect me and others to buy and they have blatantly ignored me and others with no reason given, instead opting to just give a very rude fingers in ears silent treatment.
In regards to your comment about a temper tantrum, I tried being polite many times in asking for an answer originally on twitter and they have shown nothing but contempt in response and never even bothering to give an explanation as to why they refuse to answer it, the silent treatment with no reasons given is more childish than anything I have done. It is also on par with the course that any normal human being including adults like myself would become more and more frustrated and annoyed when treated in such ways.
My comments and post in here have been well explained and I have done no such thing as throw a temper tantrum, I have however expressed my concerns and frustration in a mature yet understandable less than hills are alive with the sound of music manner the longer their rude behavior carries on regarding stonewalling and ignoring their customers legitimate questions...of which I am not the only person who has asked them this question and likewise not the only person they have given the silent treatment. The fact they won't even give a reason as to why giving the silent treatment is insulting especially when I asked the question in a very polite manner many times prior to the ever increasing frustration in my replies on here.
You might be content to walk into a store, close your eyes and throw your money in random directions but I however have enough common sense to keep my eyes open in a desire to understand what it is they are trying to sell me including mature enough to be able to ask questions when they are not clear on what they are selling, this includes knowing that if someone is avoiding answering the questions then there is most likely something they are trying to hide from me whether choosing to withhold that information themselves or because of another party. The least they could do in such a situation is explain why they are withholding that information but they continue failing to do even that.
I also have enough self respect to confront a company when they treat me like something they stepped in plus wise enough to know when someone is not treating their customers with equal respect in this case across all platforms their game is to be sold on...instead with them choosing to offer a tiered service not based on the customers devotion to their products or their company but rather a tiered level service due to a third party bribe to abandon their ethics. As I said before make no mistake that this back room deal has created such a tiered level of service irrelevant of any customers past loyalty or love of the franchise, a first class vs second class quality of service based on that third party bribe.
The back door deal which created that tiered quality of service towards their customers and which compromised the ethical equal treatment of their consumer base across all platforms has already been done and I expect they are now tied into a contract and as such there is probably very little they can do to get out of it anymore without taking a bigger hit financially than the original bribe they got from Microsoft but that is not a valid excuse as to why they cannot explain how this deal impacts the game or it's DLC. They should still be able to explain whether or not it means all DLC for the game will be timed exclusive or if just impacts the first one or first few without jeopardizing such a back room contract they might have been now locked into, these are things customers have the right to know and is something they should be able to inform us about...worst case scenario even if they cannot give an answer they should be able to give a reason why they cannot answer the question but they continue to refuse to do either of those things.
What annoys me the most is Bioware's ongoing choice to insult me and others by not only ignoring a reasonable, very simple and legitimate question but also refusing to give an explanation for such treatment. My general opinion about the DLC policy itself is to be taken as merely feedback but the question regarding how that policy is impacting the DLC for the game they want me and others to buy is not rhetorical, it is genuine, it is simple, it is reasonable, it is legitimate and sources have been provided as to why the question even exists so I do want an answer for it or at the very least an answer as to why they cannot answer it. If that answer is because do not know the answer then they should find out on behalf of their customers from someone who does know within their company and then answer it. It should of been answered a week ago when I first asked and could of been answered by a measly two or three word reply whether it was all DLC, first DLC or first few DLC.

Well Bungie and Sony have done the same as EA with Destiny. With PS4 players getting 'exclusive' content that we XBone players will not. Near every company does it. Free money for little effort on their parts.
I myself have preordered Collectors for my PC as that is what I got the previous DA games on. I am not going to lose any sleep over this.

I am also not a huge fan of exclusivity, but I would argue it is not a problem it is a business decision. Its purpose is to make you spend your money on something over something else, essentially it is the very foundation of marketing.

Oh, don't misunderstand friend: I completely understand the marketing aspect of it. I actually own an Xbox One and have the CE pre-ordered on it, and I am pretty excited the Xbone is finally getting some exclusive-based love, even if it is timed.
However, if you look at it from the perspective of the entire fan base from a PR model, plenty of people are going to get ticked off over exclusive content, mainly the ones who aren't in the demographic to experience this content. That was the rhetoric I was basing my statement from.
Do not fear though, I don't hold anything against anyone (especially Bioware) over having exclusive content. I understand its just a large trend in marketing in the gaming industry right now.
Its just something I'd like to see phased out, or done differently. Timed exclusives are at least a right step in that direction. (:
"Update"- Editing this. Seems my rhetoric may not have been so clear in blankly just saying it was a problem. Sorry if I seemed cross in my initial comment, wasn't my intent.

I have read some of the comments on the lack of response from BioWare and I did want to clarify something. Deals like this are done at very high levels and sometimes do not involved the developer at all. That said, because this involves legal and business dealings of two large, publicly traded companies, it is not really our place to comment on the business and legal dealings of others. Sometimes there is nothing that we can say.

But someone at Bioware should be able to inform me and others whether the deal with Microsoft means all DLC, some DLC or just the first DLC is a timed exclusive and I have shown why this is a valid question. At the least someone at Bioware should be in a position to ask about it in the studio or find out who would know and ask them or let me know who to ask that would have the answer.
I find it hard to believe no-one at Bioware is capable of informing the customers what it is they are being expected to buy or how this deal impacts the product and I have asked quite a few people including Mike Laidlaw and even Mark Darrah both of which should be high enough level to know what is going on with their product yet both have neither acknowledged the question or given a reason why they do not want to answer it.
This has been going on over a week now since I first starting asking members of the Bioware team and I am not the only one who has asked. If Bioware cannot even answer such a simple question about their own product they are creating, then who am I supposed to ask? Microsoft won't tell me and I do not know who at EA did this back room deal so do not know who at EA would know. Someone somewhere knows the details or at least enough to answer the question about what quantity of DLC is timed exclusive whether at Bioware, EA or Microsoft but no-one at any of these places is helping me find out...

Well then I respectfully ask that it be brought to EA's attention that consumers have a right to know how many DLC's this shady backroom anti consumer deal covers EA already had serious trust issues among the public and stonewalling consumers like this does not help, add in the 3 day delay between USA and EU customers and the deliberate price gouging on the Origin Store and its no wonder EA is so hated by gamer's these days.
For example DAI Digital Deluxe Edition is $60(£35) yet I here in the UK had to pay £60($101) for the exact same digital product while still being subjected to the physical medium 3 day delay purely because I happen to not live in "murica" I have not seen 1 justifiable reason as to why I and every other EU customer has to pay almost double the price a American customer pays.
As to the 3 day delay the only explanation I have seen is "we don't want to anger our brick and mortar stores" so in the end EU customers are being punished both for living in the "wrong country" and for Physical Stores failure to be competitive and then if that isn't bad enough EA then rubs salt into the wound by giving preferential treatment to one section of the player base, its seems good business practice like treating all customers equally is just tossed aside for $$$$.

Its not something new for games in EU to be released later than NA and it has happened with past BioWare games if I'm not mistaken.
Microsoft said that the timed exclusive content will apply to DAI's first dlc similar to BF4 with second assault.

I can't comment too much on pricing but I know in some countries that games are cheaper because of the state of the economy or the level of piracy in that country.
