where does that bull come from? I wonder at times if it wrong to be a consoler
There has been a resentment of consoles by PC players ever since cross-platform development became possible with the first Xbox, because the consoles' hardware limitations combined with cross-platform development often resulted in desirable features - even existing features - being removed or left unimplemented in PC versions of games. For instance, in the early days, when consoles were played with low-definition TVs, visual features had to have a certain mimum size, which made intricate graphics impossible and interface elements large and clunky. In addition, the consoles' limited RAM meant smaller areas, and these two effects add up in a very annoying way. You can see this effect in the difference between BG2 and KotOR, and even more drastically in the difference between Deux Ex 1 and DX:Invisible War or between Thief 2 and Thief: Deadly Shadows. Things have improved signficantly since then as developers got better at doing cross-platform development while keeping some platform-specific elements but it's still a problem here and there. It might become a non-issue in the near future since the new consoles aren't as limited any more compared with standard PC gaming hardware and games like DAI make PC-specific interfaces, but old attitudes die hard.
