I think this move will hurt Bioware more than help them, remember the dlcs we all could've skipped if only we knew what was in them. Xbox players will spoiler the dlc for the people who have to wait a month and if those people don't like what they are hearing they will simply not purchase it.
I also think there is more outcry because this is a Bioware game and Bioware games have great story. This isn't just a game that people play for the MP only if it was people wouldn't be feeling like they are getting shafted so hard.
I personally think EA is trying to regain worst company in America, they lost it when running up for it the 3rd time so maybe they are mad and want it back
Conversely PS4 players would also spoil whatever the dlc entails if it were the other way around, but regardless of company, the internet in and of itself will spoil things whether it be dlc or the core game or even a tv show. Personally I'll be too busy playing the game and hopefully enjoying it to be going onto forums where I know there's the obvious chance I could be spoiled. It won't hurt Bioware anymore than if they had timed dlc on PS4, or none at all. Fact is the people wanting to play the dlc more likely will be the core fans anyway.

I don't know if I'm overreacting, but that announcment about timed exclusive DLC made me extremely disappointed in Bioware despite my love for the series and the great footage at the conference.
I thought that after the Skyrim mess up no one would make such a backhanded deal with microsoft again, especially now that no one cares about Xbox any more.
*sigh* I needed to vent. Sorry if you use Xbox, I have nothing against it. I just hope I won't have to wait half a f'ing year just because I chose to play the game on PC.
What do you mean noone cares about the xbox any more ? Dude ...just log off and have your hissy-fit else were.

So only the first story dlc will be a timed exclusive? Does that mean the rest of them (if there are any) won't be timed exclusive? Or PS4 gets its own timed exclusive for the second dlc? Weird wording.
Indeed only the 1st DLC will be a timed exclusive for both the Xbox 360 and the Xbox one.

Do you even care that you are taking a dump on PC and PS4 users? Nope. You want that money.
This makes me sick. Oh, y'all better get ready for iOS, Android and Windows mobile early exclusives. Because MONEY.

I just don't think it's right. We will pay the same amount of money. We will anticipate the game as much as Xbox owners. We have been loyal just like the Xbox owners. Why make US wait? Money. Ok. We want to give you our money! LOL! It just isn't enough money. That's what it's about. You value money more than anything. Even more than some(if not most)of your LOYAL fans.

Well this is a let down...
Oh well. It's not like it will affect my playthroughs that much. I'll most likely play the game to death with like 8 characters over a year, then buy DLC and do it all over again.

Its only for the very first DLC and its a timed exclusive.

Plumber: "Okay. What do you need and where does it need done?"
Me: "The toilet is backed up. I'm in Bayshore."
Plumber: "****."
Me: "Exactly."
Plumber: "Well yeah, heh, but I mean it looks like I can't get out to you for two weeks."
Me: "Why?"
Plumber: "You're in Bayshore. I give priority service to Oceanview."
Me: "Oh. So like you're all booked up?"
Plumber: "No... But they might call, never know."
Me: "Wait. So you have nothing booked right now?"
Plumber: "Nope. Just waiting on Oceanview to need me."
Me: "Umm. You realize I'm trying to pay for your services right now."
Plumper: "Yeah. But see I give priority service to Oceanview and you're in Bayshore. So..."

I guess that's sensible. God knows my teachers will be delighted to overload me with uni work anyway.

I have faith in Bioware but knowing my luck we will get screwed again like skyrim with the dlc being broken and delay for an absurd amount of time

I will admit that this was the one piece of news that disappointed me today, especially as a PC gamer. However, right now information is still a bit sketchy. It could be something as simple as the warrior/rogue/mage packs. Assuming it's a story DLC, it also depends on when the DLC is planned on begin released. If Xbox is 3 months after the game goes live, and PC is 4 months? Mehh - at that point it would be for a replay anyway.

Hardly the worst things EA has done, even concerning dragon age. Employees faking being regular users to give 5 star reviews anyone? It was above and beyond the usual paying off review sites.

I don't really understand what the problem is. At least it's only a timed exclusive whereas other things have been exclusive permanently. For example Game Stop always has exclusive pre-order content that is never given to people who didn't per-order from there. Seriously you're getting the DLC at max a month after the game releases it isn't the end of the world. EA is not your friend they are a business they are in it to make money and that's that. We can sit here and debate whether or not it will lose them customers, but at the end of the day we are not employed in the financial branch of EA for a reason. I doubt they would make this choice if they didn't think it beneficial.

It was a person that did it once on one site. Stop the lies and blowing it up like it was some wide conspiracy.
And how is that any worse then the many "gamers" who review bomb the game before they even touched it? Its no so drop the hypocrisy.

Exactly, why can't more people calm down and apply common sense. Surely we'll all be too busy playing the game multiple times, the month will fly for PS4 and PC users.

Actually it was Skyrim that was broken not the DLC, DLC would've just kept tearing the broken Skyrim into more pieces.

One that was caught. It's not like there was any kind of group dedicated to exposing said people so who knows.
As for the second point, it is worse, obviously. Sure, both have the same intent, to manipulate people one way or the other. The difference is motivation. One is doing it as an idealogical protest to all that EA stands for, even if they're doing in a shady, shitty way. The other is fleece people out of money.

Mentioned in a diff thread but I just dont like the talk of dlc before games are even released. Sure ya more content is good but usually nice to wait a bit. I always look back at Morrowind as the last good example of dlc. The game released small adventures and little content packs for FREE that you could download from the games site, that I'm sure for any game now a days would at least be 5$ a pop. And then went on to release 2 big expansion packs both well after release so you actually got time to play the game first. Didnt have to worry about day one dlc or season passess
And ya delayed releases of the same content for different platforms does suck but what are you gonna do? Like somebody said above its kinda in the same realm as the certain retailer pre-order goodies. Usually eventually they make there way to everybody anyways.

It has been confirmed that the first DLC is a story DLC and it will be available first on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The other DLCs will not be timed exclusives.
