For the "first" DLC?

Didn't Skyrim say the same thing? But it ended up being ALL of the DLC.

They are going to "redo" this contract after the first DLC is out.

I understand wanting to screw PS3 players...but us PC players? I HAVE A FREAKING MICROSOFT OS.

Sheesh...it seems I am collateral damage in this stupid war.

Ah exclusive nonsense.

As long as the story DLC isn't something actually pivtol to the game then fine whatever. I still think it's a bit of a crap move but whatever.

This is such ****** bullshit!

Why would EA decide to give the exclusive DLC to a company who tried to shaft their customers at the last E3?

Not only that but who then had to shamefully back down on both the always online deal and the non sharing thing they implimented.

I watched the Microsoft showing at this E3 and it was poor. Really poor. They dont give a **** about gamers. **** knows what they do care about except money which they wont be getting much of if they keep this crap up.

EA... in bed with the ****** money grabbers as usual.

The only reason why I can see Bioware/EA went along with a timed exclusive DLC crap is that Microsoft threw a lot of money at them.  It doesn't bother me one bit as long as we get that DLC at some point (no longer than a month discrepancy) as Microsoft is just wasting money if they think it's going to cause people to buy Xbones.

So I had to abandon lurking and make an account just to post about this: This E3 went from being exciting to being an extreme disappointment.

My two most anticipated games, DA:I and Evolve, are now both getting Xbox timed exclusive DLC. Evolve preorders get a new monster for the game for free, nowhere did it say for the last few months that it would be HELD BACK from everyone but Xbox because of M$.

Getting real sick of this, I remember the Skryim bs and this just feels like a repeat. Guess other's money isn't good enough? Videogames are fast becoming the prime industry in which the customer's experience or happiness holds little merit, afaik retail stores wouldn't say "Did you drive a 'X' brand car? No? Well you can't come in and shop then, perhaps you should go buy a car."

So yea, well I'll still get both games but I won't be purchasing any DLC ever that is timed exclusive. Sure it's a small protest that they won't care about, but at least I won't be actively supporting the behavior.

You're welcome  :)  Here is the quote and link. Microsoft has clarified that the exclusive content will be the first single-player add-on for Dragon Age: Inquisition. This will arrive first on Xbox (360 and One).

Great news for me. Can't wait.  :D

I disagree, I enjoyed Microsoft's showing, no suits talking business, just game after game, I don't know how that translates to not caring about gamers. Ubisoft's was quite enjoyable too. Bloodborne looks cool for ps4.

Seriously why do people compare the Witcher and Dragon Age? The combat and story focus is completely different. I don't get from the Witcher what I enjoy in Dragon Age, and vice versa.

They are both fantasy RPG's, that were going to go head to head this fall until CD projekt red pushed the release date back.  when ever some one brings up the Witcher on this forum seems like the DA fans go rabid

I dunno combat seems a bit more similiar now, but I don't consider Witcher really a RPG.

About as rabid as Witcher fans when someone brings up Dragon Age somewhere else.

"Fantasy RPG" is pretty broad. The point is that very little is actually comparable in a specific sort of way. Hell, I'd argue Final Fantasy XII is closer to Dragon Age than the Witcher. Then you could at least compare party dynamics, character leveling, character development, tactics order, etc.

To be fair, you can make dialogue choices in both.

But only in one you are forced to play as a hideous male mutant.

They tried to stiff their fans and when that didnt work and everybody went to ps4 they stiff us again by basically throwing a bunch of cash at EA to make up the numbers of the consoles that they didnt sell and you dont see that as underhanded? Or do you perhaps now think people wont go out and buy an Xbox One just to play the DLC first?

Their games at E3 were **** even the people presenting the show on twitch said as much. This is dirty underhanded business practice and shame on EA for allowing it. Why the hell should I get stiffed on getting the DLC just because Microsoft made a holy show out of themselves (for the second time) at E3?

The way people have gone on about this you'd swear it was the first time in history it happened. Every company messes up, now they either have the neck to try and remedy it or they don't, thankfully between Microsoft and Playstation trying to outdo each other the consumer overall should benefit because they have choice and variety. I suppose people forgot that when Sony first announced the PS3 the damn thing cost 600 over here in Europe retail, pure greed, not to mention the major PSN hack that stole peoples financial information, but they learned that consumers weren't that stupid, that they expected better, and built a great console out of it. Hell even at this E3 alone Sony announced an ungodly amount of exclusive content for Destiny for example, people can even play it pre alpha this Thursday, now am I sitting here sulking over it as an owner of an Xbox? No I'm not because that's the way the industry is.

I think most of us are mature enough to know that if one company saturated the market whether it be Sony or Microsoft it would be bad news, but it's not, we have competition which leads to things like exclusive dlc, skins, missions and more because they are in the business of trying to make money and advertise their product. I don't look at companies like role models or messiahs, I balance what I prefer and go with that as any level head consumer would. I'm sorry I enjoyed something you didn't, and that you feel having to wait a little while longer for something like timed dlc is an affront to human rights.

Comparing dragon age to final fantasy 12 is odd. Story and atomsphere  are completely different, like you said only thing they share in common would be having party members

Well, it's only temporary. And since it involves solo DLC, one could assume the gap between the xbox release and the other platform's shouldn't be too big. Hopefully.

Why can't people simply enjoy both games?
