 What are the chances of seeing all or most of the big names from the first two games and awakening? Like if I was in Orlais would I run into Leliana or in Antiva Zevran, or even more interesting would we be able to run into our past characters, Like Hawke in Kirkwall, or "The Grey Warden" in the Deep Roads. I am sure that if the choices made in the first games and the dialogue and choices in the second were looked at you could even program the characters personality to be different based on the choices carried over.

I suppose that is a lot of work but I would be extremely pleased and I am sure other would be too if they could bump into their old characters.

Hardly they would one warden can take one decision when second can take same one with another reasoning. Not mention that we were creating our character through whole game not only decisions.Pretty much it is rpg so every dialogue in game reflects even something that don't have any impact on plot like giving child money is for rp purposes.In the end of the day you can be jerk but still save everyone not asking for reward you can create a little more complex personality. In fact my warden left wardens and didn't want be one when other may be loyal to them.

They mentioned long ago that both prior protagonists would play a role in DAI. What that role is was never mentioned, nor is it at all guaranteed to have survived the two years since it was mentioned. That said I think we will see Warden and Hawke in some fashion. As for importing attitudes, Hawke is fairly easy as they just ask you whether your Hawke was helpful, sassy, or a giant douche. Warden is more difficult. If they include him I forsee him being more of a silent and aloof type, with others speaking for him.

Leliana is in the game. Zev I hope not, it wouldn't add anything. Other characters we are likely to see in some fashion. Sten is the new Arishok so I doubt he would be in Orlais (They're saving him for DA4 in my opinion). DA2 companions seem the least likely (Avaline is stuck in kirkwall, Isabela doesn't seem the type to run towards a giant pile of demons, Fenris on the other hand does.)

 

So It is a fairly safe bet we will see some returning characters.
