PLEASE Bioware, I'm BEGGING you, do not forget about quivers. In this footage, Sera did not have a quiver and was basically summoning arrows or something.

You have no idea how much that turns me off, I'd basically avoid Archery completely just because of it so PLEASE. I don't care if you copy paste old quiver designs but do not forget them/

They will add it, i am sure now :) They listened for dual wielding blades, and such a small feature will be included for sure.

And who are you to say the arrows are not magic? You think dinky little regular arrows are gonna take down a big pissed off dragon? No sir. Invisible, unlimited magic arrows only.

At least the bows have actual strings. That's still better than many other games out there.

Quivers would be nice, but then again so would be backpacks for hauling all the equipment... Or maybe ox carts would make more sense, right?

Weapons in Dragon Age have never been anywhere close to realistic, and that has only tended to get worse with time.

I mean, daggers are actually shortswords that we carry floating on our backs. One-handed swords are 2-handers that are flailed around like a feather. 2-handers are more like 4-handers and are so big that some models might be more useful as stationary shields than portable weapons... etc.

Oh, and did I mention weapons floating on the characters' backs? And that's in a next-gen game, while previous-gen games had actual sheaths, holsters and straps that worked well and didn't clip with the armor that much.

Well apparently if you have bow strings and quivers at the same time the universe implodes, so take your pick.

Have to add my concern to this, I was actually surprised they did not have quivers in the trailers, especially since they have had quivers in both the previous games. Is this just something that happens to developers after they have made many games in a series? that they stop caring about the smaller details. Ubisoft has done that with the AC series, as AC4 neglected a lot of small and cool details that was in previous games. I mean the first AC game even had sheaths for his swords.

Quivers are pretty much essential to me these days if I am to play a archer character. It may sound silly to some, but the small details are more important than one would think. It is those things you notice and makes you realize the devs truly put their heart and soul into making the game. And in 2014 I would expect quivers to be in the game, as it can't be hard to implement.

So please add quivers, because it is just sad to see our characters pull magic arrows out of their back.

I agree, but then i saw that DA2 demo did not had quivers (that was month before release) And then the final version had them. I do not know why they wait till the last moment, maybe it is some tradition or good luck charm.

It doesn't really bother me.  Lots of things come from hammer space in RPGs, why not arrows?

It's not like they show the arrow being drawn from the quiver, anyway.

I agree, I hope quivers are in...along with a solution for the floating weapons, that just annoys me in every cutscene   <_< just like Hawke sitting down on the chair in merril's house with a staff strapped to his back, or does the staff magically shorten itself when sitting down

Honestly both those things bugged me too--especially the floating weapons.

Wouldn't kill it for me, but I just like the look of quivers, so I really hope they revise Sera (And any other Archers including the Inquisitor) to have one with Bows. Varric gets away with magically fabricating his bolts because you don't see the internal mechanics of his Crossbow, so I think we assume in part he's got some kind of Dwarven Extended Magazine going on.

In regards to the staves, one of tme elves had a staff that shrunk into a small stick when he wasn't using it. That would be so sweet for mages to have, also solves the "hiding that you're a Mage but carrying a giant staff on your back" problem we've had.

But yes, I really desire quivers as well, but I assume they might not have been done when the demo was recorded.

On a somewhat related note, the lack of sheaths/scabbards used to really bother me. I've since gotten past it, fortunately

Hmm I didn't care about quivers or lack thereof at first, but nearly done watching the gameplay vid with the dwarven Inquisitor and...

I am starting to think that it looks horribly odd for Sera to have the animation of reaching over her shoulder toward her back and pulling an arrow out of nothing.

I'm totally find with some kind of magic arrows that don't require quivers, but in that case I think she'd look a LOT better without that extra bit of animation of reaching and grasping and pulling on thin air.

A set of quivers on her hips would even be cool like the Demon Hunter in Diablo 3 :D, although hand crossbows aren't a thing in Dragon Age lol! Still cool with a hip quiver :P.

no need for quivers if you have a bow shooting shiny, magical arrows, man!

please, please let there be non-magical bows with nice stats as well!

I'm sure they'll add quivers. DA2's demo didn't have quivers either but they were in the main game. And the demo was released twice as close to release as we are now.

Footage here:

I agree to this but not to mention, the cinematic when Leliana was shooting her second to third arrows to the opponents.  The arrows are floating at the back without any quivers, the placement of the arrows were treated as if they were swords.  It was actually obvious when it was shown and I just got "good Maker what the fade is happening to her back?" It was spawning arrows.  Again, with the same cinematic, Leliana, I believe she is holding the arrow on the wrong side of the bow.  It is suppose to resting on the same side of the back of the hand so that the arrow can rest on the bow for balance.  These are meant to be taken as suggestions.

They will add it, i am sure now :) They listened for dual wielding blades, and such a small feature will be included for sure.

WHERE?  I WANNA SEE. dual wielding longswords? Haven't seen it yet!!!!

Leliana was also shooting without a quiver in the one cutscene.

Better be a work in progress and not an oversight!

As you will notice with each pull of the bow string she does not reach back for an arrow from the quiver so me thinks it's an elven magical bow, when the string is pulled back magical arrows form. Probably an Arcane Archer of some type would be my guess. So for Leliana's sake she would have need of a quiver as she is nothing more than a Bard.

DA2 didn't have quivers before launch yet we had them when the game was released, and I doubt DAi will not have that when they added bow strings.

Stop freaking out everyone.
