[Lost Mercenary]

It was very very brief but we caught a brief glimpse of what looks like an alien squad mate.

 

 

 

Can anyone tell if this is a race we've seen before or is it something new?

 

Personally I think it looks kinda Prothean,

It's entirely possible that there will be an alien (even Prothean) team member in the next Mass Effect, but remember to never take concept art literally. This concept, for example, could just be intended to visualize the galaxy map, and is using cut together character art to give a sense of scale and orientation. In fact, given the angles and poses of the characters I'd say those are copied from individual character arts and placed in this scene for that reason. It's been done in some of the Dragon Age Inquisition art, as well.

I'm sure it's probably not, but from that angle it does look like a Prothean.

It looks like the helmet of the Human Soldier in ME3 MP.

If not for the scale (though this could be off for a conceptual prototype) I would have guessed krogan, since the head ridge kind of reminds me of the one we see roaring in one of the animated sequences.

Gotta be Javik. I mean, who else? ... But I have to say, could it be a krogan?

It being Javik would make me pretty concerned, though at least it would confirm that it's set in the future. I'd prefer to keep the returning character count to a minimum.

If it is Javik then that means he may be an optional squad member depending on whether or not he decided to kill himself after the Reaper War.

That's clearly a prothean head.

 

This means one of four things:

 

1. It's Javik- he is the last prothean. ( I want this one )

 

2. It's not Javik- Javik being the last prothean is retconned and we find out they have a lolcolony somewhere.

 

3. It's not a sequel- the game's a spinoff that reboots the universe ( I don't want this )

 

4. It's just a concept art not meant to be taken as a hint.

Maybe it's a human body model, and someone pasted a prothean head on it so keen-eyed fans can be distracted by it.

The person on the edge of the screenshot is awfully similar to the model in the middle. I think it's just a placeholder model.

I agree with most here. It's a Prothean.

 

So either:

 

1 - It's Javik

2 - We got a prequel game coming (gag)

3 - Javik procreated to create more of his race (that one night stand with Shepard? gag)

4 - More Protheans survived their cycle and Javik isn't the only Prothy

 

Sorry. Someone already posted what I wrote. lol!  except I have option 3. (gag)
