But you evidently have no idea what the advantages and disadvantages of closed vs. open testing of a very public product actually are, so why not just leave the planning to those people who do, and you just wait to enjoy the well-tested and fully functional product when it's released?

I signed up for the beta on the first day and thinking back on what I wrote, on why I should be invited. I should of written something better than I really like dragon age, I'm a big fan. Lol
I think we all feel that way lol. Hindsight is 20/20. I wish I had written an essay on the awesomeness of the game and how much I love it. Still no invite

Couldn't write an essay. I remember optimising my writing through multiple passes to ensure I could get as much info in there while staying within the character limit. Looking back at it now, I think I approached it from the wrong angle.I think we all feel that way lol. Hindsight is 20/20. And I mine. I'm a software developer; I've run beta tests for web applications and other products before (though admittedly nothing with quite the potential audience of the Keep). "Open beta test" for a public product just means "buggy release", because most people don't really understand (or care) what beta testing is. And it's not in anyone's interest for Bioware to effectively release a buggy version of the Keep four months early, which might even fall over when thousands of people try to access it at once. Instead they add progressively more private testers until they have the feedback and statistics that they need, and then when the product is complete and working as intended, they can release it properly - still in PLENTY of time for regular users to play with it and create world states before starting DAI.
Honestly, software testing isn't that fun if I'm honest! I get the whole "sneak peek" thing, but just wait and you'll still get to see the Keep soon enough!
