I was just thinking of what BioWare is showing off to those who aren't hitting F5 for Inquisition news every day. Realised something most interesting.

There is not a single white human woman in the primary roster. Normally I wouldn't be celebrating a lack of any kind of women, but I think it's amazing in this case. Non-white women hardly ever exist in our entertainment, yet here they are shown as the majority of companions. Sera appears white, but she's also elven hence she's racially not an ordinary white human woman any way.

On top of this, at the E3 presentations, among all the stubble-cheeked protagonists, BioWare showed off their female protagonist in full armour and not making a deal of her gender at all. It's just so... perfect. She was just there, the way she should be.

Well played, BioWare. Very well played, indeed =)

Now can you confirm whether multiplayer is in the game or not? Pretty please with a nug on top? I want to preorder this baby sooo bad, but my choice of platform depends entirely on the existence of multiplayer.

Isabela would be the first example to come to mind for DA2.

Do not talk down towards other fans for liking things in different degrees than other people.  It stops now.

Further, if you take the statement "white people as the problem" as being equivalent to someones saying "black people being the problem" you are missing the point.  The context of the statement is that "representation is the problem."

If you equate the statements, you're fundamentally misunderstanding the argument.  Unless you feel that black people are far too frequently used at the expense of other people, the statements are not analogous.  The "problem" is that people feel that minorities aren't shown enough.  Given that I'm a white man, I can recognize this and not take offense if someone happens to frame it as "too many white people is a problem" instead of "not enough minorities is the problem" since both things are effectively asking for the same thing.

Attempts to silence and derail the discussions will not be tolerated.  This is a warning.

Was that directed to me?

It was directed to the thread in general.  See the rest of this page, in particular, for context.

Removed some posts, but in general have decided to outright close the thread since I believe the thread will derail things further.

To OP, I'm glad that our current breakdown is something you find appealing. Hopefully our games in the future will continue to be so for most going forward.
