Oddly enough, I kind of agree.

Once I rated one of their messages as "foul" and they seemed so heartbroken  :( Made me feel like a monster

I haven't tried that! I always rate them fine. But I should try just to see. I bet I'll feel bad too afterwards haha.

Sadly Albert was no Solaire just as Lucatiel wasn't. I finally realize that Solaire can never be replaced.

Ah you have to love these fundamentalists:

https://digitalcrack...as-a-christian/

"Bloodborne is too blasphemous to me as a Christian"

tl;dr

"even though I haven't played the game, it's CLEARLY anti-christian because a fictional church in the game is presented as evil along with everything else in the world therefore the game is saying the Church is evil and since my stupidity tells me that a god can only exist in a church the game is therefore saying God is evil because God can only exist with religion right...right? RIGHT GUYS? ITS NOT LIKE GOD IS A PHILOSOPHICAL CONCEPT AND NOT A RELIGIOUS ONE RIGHT GUYS??? RIGHT??? AHAHAHAHAHW AYAYSHSYSYSYSAHAAHAHAHAH!!11"

And the response to this nonsense was:

"Well said brother. I bought the game yesterday and honestly felt pretty sick after playing it, for reasons you’ve mostly outlined above. I am ashamed to own it now, and will be returning it asap."

LOL

Thankfully this is only a small minority of Christians.

Honestly there is nothing in the game that is anti-religious or an attack on real life religion. The game takes inspiration from the Lovecraft mythos in which the gods are actually evil cosmic beings. These are the "gods" in Bloodborne too who are also cosmic beings called the "Elder Ones" who are possibly extra-dimensional or from outer-space.

As for the Church, I never saw the Church in Bloodborne as evil since it was initially allied with the Hunters to hunt the beasts and stop the plague but eventually became corrupt along with everything else. Depending on what you believe, The Church may have spread the plague unknowingly, doing the bidding of the Elder Ones and then later tried to cure it but this is left ambiguous to the player.

That would explain why God still hasn't patched the invisible walls me and others keep walking into. Seriously this game "Life" has been out for years and it's still in beta. Although I heard the Andromeda players are enjoying the game in its full glory and that they already have the space exploration expansion.

...and don't get me started on the customer service. It takes millions of years just to get through to the Angel Hotline and another million for them to forward your complaint to God. You're dead by then!

Still it could be worst. If "Life" was developed by Bethesda then we'd all be bugs!

Worse case scenario, we'd all be cardboard cut outs of each other, talking about how we love buying from the shops owned by ourselves, while having eerie creepy eye-contact in conversation as we consistently pull off a very inept con, because we are diagnosed with personality disorder.

I was going to say that myself too.

Although maybe "evil" is a stretch. Corrupt is better but even still I can't deny that the Catholic Church (dunno about Church of England or Orthodox Church) is the biggest provider of health-care outside of the government world-wide and "has around 18,000 clinics, 16,000 homes for the elderly and those with special needs, and 5,500 hospitals, with 65 per cent of them located in developing countries" so even though corrupt, it still does some good, especially in developing countries with all their missionary aid work (if you can ignore their "don't use condoms" nonsense).

I find it's independent Churches that are normally good, being involved in their local community and helping the homeless whilst the Church as an overall organization is definitely the opposite of the teachings of Jesus, ironically being like the Pharisees who Jesus condemned - rich, greedy and only thinking of money.

Although I best stop here before I derail this thread further more.

I can say the same thing about Hamas. No one condones Hamas, yet they are the only organization who makes life bearable in Palestine. They build schools, hospitals, houses etc. Without Hamas Palestine would be even more of a dump than it already is.

But no one condones Hamas*. Why condone the Church? Burn it, to the ground. Others will do the good stuff. And to be perfectly honest, all this crap about the Church and religion being necessary for good things to be done is just offensive, and ridiculous. As if Atheists are exempt from morals and good behaviour. Bleh.

*Except Palestinians. For obvious reasons I may hope.

But yes... Bloodborne. Eh... awesome.

The difference between the Church and Hamas is that the former is an organization that has become corrupt like all world governments and the later is a terrorist organization that murders innocents and only helps radical Muslims. The Church hasn't burned any "heretics" for centuries so the argument that it should be abolished for past misdeeds is simply nonsense.

But who are the others that will do good stuff in place of religious organizations? There are a few secular organizations helping but they're not anywhere near as big as the charity provided by religious organizations Wikipedia lists 282 charities world-wide. 170 of them are all religious charities. Atheists organizations like American Atheists or Freedom from Religion Foundation have had years to start missionary aid work and open soup kitchens for the poor but still haven't so I don't think you should place much trust in them to provide the help to the homeless, unemployed or poor as the Church does.

Perhaps it's best to take this in PM if you wish to continue.

I just killed Father Gascoigne. Now I can sleep in peace.

I'd definitely list that fight as one of the more difficult and demanding ones, especially the last phase. You'll feel like a badass coming out of that one. Way to go. :)

I hate to admit it, but this game is making me consider buying a PS4.

I Regret nothing for grabbing it. :) Timewise, I got roughly 40+ hours out of the first playthrough, then spent a bunch of hours finding all the secrets and knicknacks in there. I was pretty surprised looking at the full game map and seeing how much I missed. Plus I'm having fun messing with the new weapons and their transformations. My top of the year, we'll see what happens with Witcher 3 and beyond.
