AN interesting new video I which makes me thinking the man in the chapel you go after for Eileen is the man who betrayed the church and gave the blood to the vilebloods

I am late to this thread...
While I enjoyed bloodborne on a pve level for story mode.. Everything else just didn't feel like it was there for me. The werewolves and beasts, some undead ideas were nice. Did not give a crap about the lovecraftian themes.
Difficulty felt like it was much lower than darksouls 1, and 2. Haven't played demon souls so can't compare. What I mean by difficulty, I mean playing the game and running into enemy invaders. As you know, they tried to curb pvp this time with bell maidens, instead of soul memory.
A completely optional mechanic in multi-player if you find and camp the bell maiden, kill her as your friend arrives. In pvp forced areas, once you kill your bell maiden she only comes back when you ring a sinister bell chime...
It felt like a gun spam simulator for pvp, and for those who know, Bloodtinge was the meta for quite a few people with its multi purposed fighting style. Chikage and evelyn builds were so common I could say I fought them a majority of my pvp experience. The people I generally did get to invade were people who weren't progressing naturally through the game but camping near the lamps so if they died they didn't have to run far.
.
There was no reason or real incentive for anyone to invest points in stamina. You get 11 dodges spamming it with the lowest stamina stat. Seeing as you have even more I frames and faster heal animations, fights took a lot longer than they needed to. The gem system is silly also as it only encourages people to go for maximum weapon damage despite having different types of gems in the game.
Chalice dungeons, the hardest difficulty, I farmed them at level fifty with no help at all. There were the occasional enemies that could kill you quicker than you can twitch but it was mostly thanks to terrible physics. Why was pthumerian descendant allowed to spam his hook throws that can kill you easily, through pillars or floor? He often abused this by backing away from me and throwing his hooks while safe behind a damn pillar. That's err.. Terrible.
Given how I was looking forward to the Victorian London themes, the fast paced combat the game felt nice to progress through but after a few play throughs I became that guy who wanted to just pvp people who had friends. I'd only engage someone if they had two friends with them because of my gems and runes. So the few invasions I could go on were far and in between as I found them lacking for challenge.
The story itself of you follow it is beautiful! Not as beautiful as dark souls in my opinion but it is gorgeous and I want more from them like that. I hope dark souls 3 haa a compelling story too. Dark souls 2 had some really good characters but eh, overall story is not there until you reach the dlcs.. Errr, sorry.
7/10 for me, not enough natural pvp, games too forgiving at times, and only really in threat of invasions in three areas which is a shame for,me because I feel a souls like game should have forced pvp with your beautiful story. The fact that people can get their friends to help them with controlled risk.. It's just annoying ..

Demon's is generally easier than the rest, besides DS2. The few times it's super-difficult are for the wrong reasons, like the Flamelurker. Some parts in Bloodborne feel easier, others feel harder. The Mandatory boss list after CD-ROM are pretty easy-peasy, besides one in particular.Difficulty felt like it was much lower than darksouls 1, and 2. Haven't played demon souls so can't compare.
Yeah, I didn't see much point in converting my weapon to a fire element when it's rarely worth investing in. I've seen some abuse the bloodtinge bonus with one of the trick weapons, I forget which. The gem system is silly also as it only encourages people to go for maximum weapon damage despite having different types of gems in the game.
