No I'm just surprised you thought that it could be short and linear like the Order...

Early reviewers have already confirmed it's as long and diverse as the Souls games but everyone should be expecting that. This is From Software here.

Yes another thing to expect is a story line that will require us to play over and over to get, then give up and turn to Vaati Vidya

Found the FromSoftDrone.

I bet you think that the Retail version looks better than the Alpha, don't you?

You have to love the trolling on the Bloodborne gamefaqs board.

Some gay guy made a topic "gay hunters" where he's looking to unite with other gay players: http://www.gamefaqs....dborne/71425747

It was proceeded by all these threads:

http://www.gamefaqs....dborne/71426040(Dyslexic Hunters, Untie!)

http://www.gamefaqs....dborne/71425877(Atheist Hunters Unite!)

http://www.gamefaqs....dborne/71426229(Hunters about to have a stroke, unite!)

Parody threads are apparently big on the board especially "pre-order cancelled" threads over silly things mocking haters.

I'd expect at least a more open version of Demon's.

Yes another thing to expect is a story line that will require us to play over and over to get, then give up and turn to Vaati Vidya

It seemed a bit more dialogue-heavy based on the previews, but item descriptions and multiple endings will likely still play a big part. So yep, dying to try to understand what the hell I just played.

There's always one thing we can count on though.

It'll be depressing.

I might have gotten this if it was available in North America and reasonably priced.

Same. The Collector's Edition is nice, but outside of a Soundtrack and Art Book there's not much to go for.

A Playthrough has been spotted on YT which can be found here. As for a quick preview:

I preordered Bloodborne today, getting a steel case, art book, soundtrack and keyring for about 5 bucks more.

In England we have to pay an extra £23 for that stuff (£70 in total). Basically the collector's edition for Bloodborne is like the limited edition for Dark Souls 1 but not free. Not that I really care as I've preordered the regular edition but I'm just amused over the idea of someone forking out £23 more just for steel casing and a digital soundtrack that everyone will get for free after it's uploaded onto the internet lol.

Many bosses serve up multi-phase encounters that transition from the understandable and controllable to crazed transformations with cosmic terrors. (GameInformer)

That's good news to me, my favored boss battles tend to be more dynamic, instead of using the same formula for 5-10 minutes.

Bloodborne is a fairly lengthy romp, as it took me about 32 hours to complete on my first playthrough. There's a decent chunk of sidequests and interactions, and of course, the call of New Game+ is inescapable. One thing that did disappoint me though is the general layout of the map after the curtain was closed -- it feels less replayable, less sprawling than past games due to the action-oriented focus. As of the time of this writing I'm working on my second playthrough, but I'm not finding a whole lot of new areas like I did in prior New Game+ runs.

There is one caveat regarding the aforementioned lack of replay value. Although there were a few extra paths in older Souls games, the problem is that eventually, you'd memorize the layout anyway, eliminating the element of surprise and awe. But with randomly generated Chalice Dungeons in Bloodborne, that all changes. After finding one of four chalices in-game (even the mechanic itself is shrouded in mystery, so I won't spoil it here), you can start running dungeons on your own, separate from the core game. (Destructoid)

I'd seen hints of that fact earlier on, I guess we'll see what the final result is.

The Jimquisition:

Unlike comparably “long” games stuffed with filler content, there is no empty nebulous “stuff” in Bloodborne - every shred of its material is valuable, everything has a meaning, a place, and importance. Even as one reaches the final furlong on the path to the final fight, it’s still throwing new monsters and fresh areas at you. Those areas get less intricate and involved as the game continues, that much is true, but the consistency in sheer quality is never dropped, the commitment to freshness maintained throughout.

Yep. It's not for everypo-... everyone. I'd describe both Bloodborne and Souls as a game series for hack and slash lovers looking for a greater demand of perception and mental agility from the player.

This is definitely not a game to play just for the story, the combat's too entrenched into the game itself. It's wonderful for those who look for that sort of thing. Otherwise, I'd avoid it.

*brohoof*

But the graphics look good, plus I learned I can create a customizable female, and I'm a huuuuge sucker for that, as a female gamer....and this oddly reminds me of the devil may cry series played the first 3....died...but I did give em a try...............

*ponders just how frustrating this could possibly be*

Devil May Cry 3 was pretty damned hard, it wouldn't be that big of a stretch from Bloodborne.

As far as death, I look at it more like failing at a puzzle, slowly solving it through improving my knowledge of my enemy(and running like a ninny to the next checkpoint).

I believe DMC3 was a bit cruel in terms of game overs. You'll never get a Game Over with Bloodborne or Souls.

I'm on board. Hoping for vegetable-themed armor so I can look fashionable. Let's go with... maybe broccoli this time.

Yeah. Pile of broccoli with a blunderbuss. Cower in fear.

...Seriously, though, if anyone finds ridiculous armor and I haven't already mentioned finding any, you are required to post directions to it.

It's the fact that the plot isn't so hand held that's also interesting

While I'm not that old (27) I first got into video games in like....92....93.... with te original nintendo...... then bumped up into the SNES, and onwards....some of those SNES games were SUPER hard.....they didn't hold your hand like some games nowadays do, and I miss that challenge factor.

I heard a lot of customization went out the window though
