So, do you think we can make a pretty boy male qunari?

I hope so :)

How do qunari sleep in a bed with those horns?

Sleep is a waste of time. The Qun wastes nothing. Thus Qunari do not sleep.

Good I want a tough badass for the Fem-Qun and other races. Not some cutesy all the time. Scars and growls!

Ok maybe cutesy for one of the elves lol

From my post on the older qunari mage thread, adapting the background I'd use as a tabletop roleplay:

Varric: How does a qunari end up studying at the circle of magi in Fereldan?

Inquisitor: I was left in a basket on the Tower's doorstep.  My name, "Saarabas," was painted onto the side of the basket.  The mages figured my family must have smuggled me out of Par Vollen or Seheron or someplace.  I used to think about them, what they must have given up to set me free, how much they must have risked so that I wouldn't be leashed and kenneled like an animal... *imagines qunari parents camping in the woods with an infant*

Varric: :D  :P

Inquistor: What?

Varric: Qunari don't have names as you or I know them.  They have titles.  "Saarabas" is the qunari word for "mage" and it literally means "dangerous thing."  Secondly, the qunari don't have families as you or I know them.  They reproduce for the same reason they do anything else, to satisfy a demand of the qun.  My guess, your parents were wandering tal-vashoth who sent you to the place they knew that deals with mages.  They probably didn't even know that Fereldan doesn't leash their mages.

Inquisitor: :crying:

It's weird… Qunari with beards seem uncommon. Are they like elves? Do they have trouble growing facial hair?

They're from warmer climates.  Perhaps they overheat, or parasites are common?

Perhaps. Think we'll be able to give qunari inquisitors beards? I wasn't really considering playing a male qunari first run, but I'm interested in whether bearded qunari are an option we'd have.

I'm more concerned how a qunari will be able to roll with those horn with the rolling function shown in one of the trailers, I can't stop thinking that the qunari inquisitor will keep getting stuck mid-roll due to the horns getting stuck in the ground

I think.  Tallis' mentor had one, I think.  I'm thinking they'll be smaller than dwarf beards and have more braiding and beadwork than human beards.  I keep picturing the beards the pharaohs wore.

Interesting. Haven't gotten a chance to play Mark of the Assassin, tbh. I could see pharaoh beards on qunari, for sure.

The dwarves have a very old word, European look, Scandinavian and such.  The qunari are more Middle Eastern.  Wherever they were from before they came sailing into Thedas, I bet it was warm.

Or they've simply adapted to their new life in Par Vollen and Seheron, which is tropical. Given the nature of the Qun, that seems likely. "Culture" seems to be something they'd consider wasteful, with the only good art being art that enforces the Qun.

And yet they have dancing monkeys, according to Stens fade dream of his companions.

Tallis' mentor, Salit:

I gotta admit, it's an interesting look.

I hope the qunari have different skintones than everyone else.  In DAO they were often described as "bronze giants," but in DA2 they're silvery.  Typically give my mages white hair and light eyes, as though the magic has bleached the color out of them.

My female mage Hawke has the messy hair, gray eyes, and the tattoos around the eyes in gray and as close to black lipstick as I can get.  I got told she looked like she was turning into a broodmother.

I've heard that romances will be race restricted as well due to animation difficulties, I hope this doesnt mean we can't romance the Qunari Inquisitors with other races

Maybe they can sleep standing, like cows or horses

... Or they sleep sitting, or have special beds with holes in it. I mean they're a pretty advanced race, they must have figured out something.

It depends probably on where they come from. I hope qunari-skin has as much variety as human-skin. You know, the ones who live in a more southern area are maybe more dark grey/pruple-ish/golden/etc than the ones who live in northern areas. I would find that great.

That's how I want my male qunari warrior to look. Except bronze and no red.

The qunari lady's a bit less beefy than I would have hoped, especially around the arms.  But it probably won't bother me once I get her into full plate, and I love the face!

Now that's a warrior, not some beauty-pageant porcelain doll. Big, tough, non-sexualized female she potentially strong enough to be a remarkable Inquisitor.
