I'm normally not one to stir up trouble. But after today's news that the first DA:I DLC has become little more than a marketing tool for Microsoft, I cant stay silent. This is transparently, brazenly unethical. And yet sadly, many people who will read this have become so desensitized to the practice of exclusivity that they may not understand why this is so wrong. Let's state it in clear terms: exclusivity is the result of backroom deals in corporate boardrooms, between platform owners and publishers, with the sole intent of locking out other platforms from access to a game. No one benefits from this, save the corporations. Not that it would make it any better, but even Xbox owners don't gain anything from this. They get to play the same DLC they would have played anyway. For every other gamer, its a losing proposition, and one they had no say in.

Well, almost no say. I don't expect anyone at Bioware to bite the hand that feeds, but I'm sure that many people working there are just as unhappy with EA's decision as you and I are. So the burden is on us to let EA know how unacceptable this is. Dragon Age belongs to every gamer that has ventured into Thedas, regardless of what platform they play on. Our affection for the game should never be used to deepen the pockets of Microsoft or any other third party. Dragon Age, and its fans, are not a pawn in the senseless and divisive "console wars," nor are we are bargaining chip for EA to sell to the highest bidder.

If you agree with any of the above, I urge you to tell EA, in no uncertain terms, that you as a customer are outraged. Be polite, but firm. Do not insult, threaten violence, or engage in personal attacks. Use whatever medium you feel most comfortable with. EA's official Twitter handle is @EA, and their Facebook is facebook.com/EA. I also found what a Battlelog user purported to be the company email address for EA's CEO,However you do it, make sure EA knows that we will not tolerate this.

If Microsoft helped fund DAI, I have no problem with them getting a reward for it in the form of earlier access to a DLC.

I sympathize with your displeasure simply because I want to. Not sure why it's "unethical" in some general sense though.

?

As CEO of EA he probably put it up somewhere it's readily available. I doubt it's a personal email account anyway.

Microsoft helped fund the game. Some sort of payback is required. Plus, its a timed exclusive, so PS3 people will get it eventually.

You say that like his email isn't public info? That's his work email, the official ea email. Everyone has access to send to that email. It isn't the dudes personal email. If he didn't want to receive hate mail he shouldn't be the CEO of one of the most hated game publishers of all time. I love Bioware, but EA is pure evil.
