So we are getting more detailed looks at our new companions and we know some who will be love interest. And of course there is always a fight between them if they are being romanced by the player at the same time.
DAO. Morrigan and Leliana- by far the best, more so if you get the modded banter between the two.

DA2. Anders and Fenris


In DAI who do you think will have the cat fight? Or who do you want fighting over your player?
In origins it was two woman. In DA2 two men. This time I say man vs woman, Cullen vs. Cassandra!

I say:

 

- Cullen vs Solas & DHMG, and I know that this might be too similar to Fenris vs Anders, but I can't see Cullen getting along with an apostate, maybe dalish elf  mage and a Tevinter ex-magister (even if he has disagreements with Tevinter "political system" he's probably still very far from the "circle ideal", I imagine)... unless Cullen has evolved A LOT.

- Cassandra vs Sera: I can see them hating each other in the beginning, but I have the feeling they will end up being good friends

- Leliana vs Cullen vs Scribbles: well, I know Leliana it's not going to be a LI and this is against the rules of the game, but I want to say it anyway  : I think advisers are going to be far from getting along and pretty often their recomendations are going to be irreconcilable. I expect them to fight each other a lot.

I never care much for love rivalry fights. It's not my thing and it only seems to happen to my characters when the game assumes I'm co-romancing someone I'm not, due to a bug.  That happened with more than one DA:O playthrough.  

 

Still, in terms of general personality clashes, I'm definitely minded to think Sera and Vivienne will never see eye to eye.  I also think that Vivienne will see Morrigan as a threat, since the latter has been advising Celene.  

 

Cullen seems an obvious one to not get along with apostates, but it looked like it was him in the lion helmet standing with Morrigan in one of the trailers.  Although I guess they could be uneasy and very temporary allies.

I'm all for characters bickering among each other due to personality quirks, two characters just so different the are always butting heads, or disagreements about what decisions we should be making as a group.  However, I really don't want to see characters fighting over me because they both think I'm in love with them for whatever reason. It just feels petty and out of place. Like the only purpose of the fight is to stroke the players ego.

Romantic:

 

Cullen + DHMG = DHMG is a mage and looks like he's quite fiesty, flashy, and very flamboyant. Cullen has his views on mages (and I can't imagine that the incident with Anders and the mages uprising helped them either), but when it comes to attractive lady mages he comes off more like an angry teddy bear than an extremist. Put a FemQuizzie between the two and I can't imagine things go well. For DHMG at least.

 

Leliana + Morrigan = It would be hilarious if they were still fighting over the Warden if both of them were romanced. Childish and unlikely, but a few quips would be entertaining.

 

Vivienne + Morrigan = I can't imagine they get along well, plus both of them have some pretty sharp tongues. Vivienne will have quite the commentary on Morrigan's fashion statement while Morrigan probably will despise Vivienne's pro-Circle views and her outlandish wardrobe. If Viv is an LI (hoping!!!) and Morrigan makes a flirtatious pass on ManQuizzie (even if she's not romanceable, which I know she won't be, she can still be very flirtatious), I can more than imagine Vivienne is NOT going to have that.

 

Vivienne + Cassandra = The ultimate opposites. Both are alpha women. Cassandra is a tough as nails warrior who left a life of privilege but will more than likely have a soft side for the Quizzie. Vivienne is an extravagant woman who loves decadence and only the best, and should she be an LI and the Quizzie prove himself (or herself) worthy of Vivi's affection, I can imagine Vivi wouldn't take kindly to a plainly dressed lady in armor trying to woo him/her away. I can actually see them butting heads without a love triangle to an extent.

As for Inquisition... I'm sure Morrigan has matured, no more cat fights from her. If she wants to insult someone, she'll do it the Orlesian way.

Same goes for Vivienne, I truly doubt she is going to resort to "cat fighting" and bickering when she is a player of the game. That'd be foolish and weak to show herself getting easily irritated.

 

Sera likely doesn't have as much self-control, and she seems to have strong ideals about "bad people getting what they deserve.", which may clash with others with less idealistic views.

SO far it looks like it will be Sera and Viv and Iron Bull and Varric.

The moment I read about Sera I though "She and Vivienne are just not going to get on".   I would say they are polar opposites and even without a romantic slant, the sparks are going to fly. 

 

Apparently there are hints that Varric may not like Iron Bull but I dare say that will be fairly subtle unless of course Varric is a love interest and so is Iron Bull - apparently he enjoys a good bedroom romp - so you never know.  

 

I imagine most of the other males are going to feel threatened by DHMG because he is seriously sexy.   I do hope there isn't a downside to him.   I was so looking forward to romancing Anders in DA2 after Awakening and then look what happened.   I reckon the most serious confrontation may be between him and Solas because if DHMG is a Tevinter mage and Solar is a elf apostate, then there is some pretty serious history behind relations between these two, without the added complication of romantic rivalry.  If tempers flare between those two, fireballs will fly!

Sounds like she only disagrees with viv on one or two things, but mostly likes her.

It annoyed me every single time when Anders commented on Hawke romancing Fenris--I did nothing to encourage Anders and here he was butting into something that was none of his damn business.  If any of my male friends ever did anything like that to me I'd verbally rip them a new one.  Granted, I've never had to--my friends are more civilized than that.

I was about to mention those two before I read your post.  Yeah, even without a love triangle, I do not see them getting along at all.  With Dorian's past as a Tevinter mage, those two are bound to butt heads.

I loved when Morrigan and Leliana fought over my Cousland Warden. I loved them both and it was hard choosing Morrigan over Leliana(but she was cool about). i would say Cass and Sera for me but since Sera is female only, then I'd say Cassandra and Vivienne(but they don't usually get along as David Gaider said).
