Generally, people argue that Anders' character was ruined because his entire personality changed as a result of this Justice-ification that he goes under.

Yeah, he was imbued with the Ghost of Revolutions past. Guy Fawkes was apparently SUPER bored.

I'd say coincidence.

I just hope that romance restrictions are not purely gender-based. There should be some restrictions based on class and race too.

The statement wouldn't include SWTOR. WHich is probably not that surprising because by virtue of being made in a different studio it's easy to overlook. (I did myself).

The statement was a mistake. He meant Dragon Age games:

I-buh-what? I'm with you on class, but, uhm, the other lost me. Unless you're talking about the Morrigan/ Sten "surviving" conversation from Origins.

I agree. Not so much on class, but something based on behavior, or something like a dwarf-exclusive Varric type thing makes sense to me, although I doubt they'd ever do it since the numbers they got back from DAO showed dwarves were the least played race.

However, something like this would do well to entice players to play as dwarves more, so there IS reason to do it, if they felt the resources used would create enough profit.

Going into the Deep Roads once was enough for me- having to originate there twice and then go back almost drove me crazy.

I don't think there should be any class restrictions on romances, considering that if anyone would have that it would be Cullen against mage characters and in origins he clearly is able to be attracted to a mage character.
Race on the other hand. I don't think there should be a romance were you have to be a certain race, especially because right there that'll mean either 1/4 or 1/8 of characters would be able to romance them. It may make them seem racist, but 1 or 2 characters that are restricted from a single race would be interesting (like Iron Bull finding elves to be too fragile).

The only Deep Roads in Inquisition that'll drive you crazy are...well...ask Sera.

So long as they're all good then well it's all good... I'd be very annoyed if some of the romances are superior in terms of depth and amount of content.

Well, those are subject to opinion and on Character predisposition. Would a stoic warrior like Cassandra have the same length conversations as an Orlesian Mage who plays The Game?

My personal theory is that of all the companions, only Cole and Varric will not be available to the Inquisitor in some fashion.  However, the devs also made sure to let us know that there are different kinds of romance.  Some might not be particularly romantic--Iron Bull sounds like he'd be all about the sex, and little else.  Maybe you could convince him otherwise, maybe not--maybe you can only have Iron Bull if you're okay with it being casual and not being more than friends with benefits.  And i remember a "hate-fueled romance" being mentioned, too.  That could apply to just one character, or to a particular set of characters that the Inquisitor might have opposing ideals to--whereas they might be normal romances if the Inquisitor is more agreeable to their opinions.

I'd be fine with this.

However, until this is confirmed, I'm more than happy to go on as if ALL THE THINGS are romanceable. Next up: Varnell.

In terms of her romance she may not have as much dialogue but I would imagine her having more dialogue having to do with her genuine feelings.

The hate based relationship I can see Vivienne definitely entering into, perhaps Cullen will feel the need to annul a circle as well.

...

Wait.

Hate sex is as confusing a concept to me as love punches.

That's true- it all depends on individual perception and how pedantic the gamer is.
