Romance shouldn't equate to who you can have sex with, anyway. A relationship is a relationship regardless of whether sex is taking place.

 

But I don't know if he said that in the heat of the moment to carry things along or if he was dead serious.

I enjoy the romance tales, at least the ones I have chosen but do not hold them as a priority for playing this (or any other) game. Perhaps this should be more of the focus of mods; maybe even DLC's, but it certainly is not the main reason I play these games.

 

And yet sadly, I have a better relationship with either Leliana or Aveline than anything in RL, so what do I know....

Damnit, BioWare has to be careful with those announcements. Fanboys/-girls could die from heart attacks because they were too happy about, which might lead to next-of-kin sueing BioWare for manslaughter (death by snu-snu 2.0), which in turn would jeopardize the game's developement.

 

 

BioWare, stop being too awesome. It's not good to be too good!

Its actually bad for business because they're raising the heart rates of fans too much and then they won't be in a healthy enough state to get the game.

Think of it this way: yes, this might lead to incredible amounts of pestering and complaining (more so than usual). But think of all the tears that might result of people not getting the polygon lovin' from the specific character they want, that they now feel certain they'll get. You could feed off of that for years.  ;)

Considering how long they've been working on the game I wouldn't expect all the romance content to ruin other aspects at all, since people started working on it before Origins shipped (this still amazes me).  It's been a long time in the making, I almost feel nervous for them haha.
