I haven't read any of the DA novels, so I wouldn't know. Only what I've heard from others, I'm just playing the skeptic.
If you lived near me, they'd be pelted at you right now.

I would recommend The Masked Empire at least. Sets the stage for Inquisition nicely.
I don't know about the game having flings or relationships with minor characters.
I'm just feeling down at this point. All I've wanted is the ability to play male elf and have a straight romance with a woman of the same species. Sera was hitting all the right notes... and then it's revealed that she's a lesbian. To anyone saying "Well, just play a woman and you can romance elves just fine," **** you. **** you with a rusty pitchfork. I shouldn't have to change my sex to find a worthwhile relationship, and I'm not interested in a homosexual romance. As it stands right now, it looks like the only way for a straight, same-species relationship as a male elf is to spend coin at a whorehouse. *sigh* Roleplaying out the ****ing window.

I think I'll end up sticking to cliff notes for now, but who knows, I may change my mind later.

I would say Asunder+Masked Empire. First deals with Mage-Templar war (big plot for DAI), the second with Orlessian Civil War (another big plot for DAI).
And the game shouldn't bend at the behest of angry fans
And how would that work? Seeing gay couples in universe? Like we did with Leliana and French obnoxious name lady? or Wade and Herren?
Yes, if they were less vague and offensively stereotypical about it.
I especially don't consider Wade and Herren to be legitimate representation, since there's no in-game indication that they're actually in a relationship. If anything, they seem to hate each other.

I'll sic Geordi LeForge on you, he'll get you to read; pummel you with the Reading Painbow.
For some reason, reading this thread while listening to Music of the Night is oddly fitting.

The book coming out in September has GRIFFONS.

*hugs* if Dorian ends up m/m exclusive I'll be sitting right next to you.
This is why I prefer all bi
this is suckage.

Uhm. . . Herren is Wade's desire demon. They bicker like an old couple. Outside of that, you have *SPOILERS* Celene and Briala in the "Masked Empire," two of the Wardens in "The Calling..." many prominent characters in this universe are diverse, in regards to orientation, regardless of the choices of a Warden, Hawke, or, presumably, the Inquisitor.

Yeah it was. It was spicy and I fainted a lot.

Considering it's coming you that's rather endorsement of the opposite.
Can we ever go back?
If you wish it, absolutely

That made me shudder
I posted this in the Dorian thread, I made a deal with a gay friend of mine, if Dorian is gay he's going to bang him for me.... because that's what friends are for right? He also said it was the oddest request he's ever had from a friend... it makes me happy.
I agreed to bang Cullen for him if he's straight so we're good.
If you wish it, absolutely
If wishes were fishes...
