I'd like to think we're going the 2/4/2 route, with the following characters romanceable: Cassandra (straight), Varric (straight), Vivienne (bi), Scribbles (bi), Cullen (bi), Iron Bull (bi), Sera (gay), and Dorian (gay). I have my doubts about Blackwall and Solas being LIs. Blackwall seems more like the grandfatherly type akin to Wynne who was the grandmotherly type in DAO, and Aveline who was more like the older sister type (at least, to me) in DA2; we already know Cole as an LI is off the table. As for Solas, it's just a gut feeling. *shrug* I'd love to be proven wrong, though.

 

Either way you look at it, I'm sure a fair chunk o' people are gonna be disappointed with the choices. There truly is no win-win situation here... unless they make every companion romanceable (minus Cole), but then, if they did that, it wouldn't be what most would consider fair. We'd end up with 4 female LIs and 6 male LIs. If this does happen, however, I'll need to invest in a crapton of popcorn, Cola, a portable toilet and some duct tape 'cos I won't be able to leave the forum for weeks.

Ah, good 'ole CAD. Haven't read it since it got so dark that one time. However, picking the option seems self explanatory.

DA2 suffered from a disconnect, we are constantly told how badass Hawke is, yet his/her life is one fail after another.

 

 

Also I think I might prefer a lack of agency in romance rather than in the main story.  I'd MUCH prefer a dynamic storyline that reacts to my choices than romances who react to my choices.

 

But then complaints levied to the game are disconnected as well. A dynamic storyline was in all the games, so you got that. Agency within the games may have been lacking somewhat, but I could cite several instances of it in Origins to so it's not really here nor there. I guess the point I am making is I don't comprehend the complaints or assertions made regarding romances, story, etc. 

 

 

As for Hawke, it really wasn't a fail in the end but that is all subjective to begin with. The disconnect was also man-made due to PR over anything else really. And who honestly believes in PR?

If Varric is romanceable in this game, we'll have come the closest we'll probably ever come to romancing Tyrion Lannister.

Either way you look at it, I'm sure a fair chunk o' people are gonna be disappointed with the choices. 

 

Thats the case no matter what they do. Last go around they had four people all playersexual;some people loved it, some didn't. I happen to be one of the ones who didn't.

 

This time, they'll have x number of people each with their own sexuality and preferences for whom they'll fall for;some people will love it, some won't. I happen to be one of the ones who will.

 

Who knows what will happen next time. Regardless, no scenario ever ends with everyone happy and successfully satiated.
