I am sooo stoked. So, we'll have at least 6 LIs; 3 of them are known. Iron Bull is very likely. The only other two I care about are Varric and Blackwall. Ideally, I would love it if ALL of the companions/advisors are potentially LIs. As long as I can romance Varric, Iron Bull, and Blackwall as either a female dwarf or male Qunari, nothing can ruin this game for me.

I think that Solas will be an Li since he is the only male elf so far, and i don´t think they will change that pattern...but what do i know... and for Varric, imo i think not ^^ for Blackwall, that is writen by sheryl chee who wrote one Li so far (Liliana), and she wrote Wynne aswell, i can´t shake this "grandpa" figure from Blackwall lol, but all to their own :P so my hopes are on either Dorian, solas, or Iron bull, as the male companions. for the female ones i don´t really care :P sorry...

This thread just used up all of my likes for today.

As for romances here are my predictions:

Confirmed Romance Options

Cullen - Straight (an assumption based on the DA:O Mage Origin)

Cassandra - Bi (mainly because I love her and I've the perfect sarcastic rogue femquisitor lined up for her)

Sera - Gay (very excited to romance her)

Guessed Romance Options

Iron Bull - Bi (based on his bio)

Scribbles -  (Straight or Bi)

Vivienne - (Straight or Bi)

DHMG -  Gay

I don't see Varric or Blackwall as options. Varric still loves Bianca and Blackwall has a Wynne vibe to him. If the mysterious rogue is Cole, then given his mental age, I think its unlikely that he'll be an option.

Well, I think 8 is a reasonable guesstimate. Lady hawke had three choices in men (Fentis, Sebastian, and Anders) so if every gender&sexuality combo is represented equally then the 2/4/2 is logical.

If I can romance Leliana again, I won't know how to feel.  On one hand, it'd be awesome to romance her again, but I'd feel broken up about her cheating on the Warden...

Any past love interests in a Bioware game will not be romanceable in Inquisition. This has been confirmed already.

Quite the claim but I hope you're right and you enjoy it. :)

LPPrince, I feel like you should put that in the OP. You've had to say it like 10 times in this thread.

Yeah, but I'd like to have the dev quote so people don't ask for proof later.

Most romances in a BioWare (DA) game (with the exception of returning characters, yes that means Leliana is off limits, sorry! Fill this bucket with your tears so that we may offer it up to the Gaid for more info)?

Too much?

To be honest, I don't know why people would want to romance past options in new games anyway. If you wanted to romance them, you could easily do so in the game they're featured in as companions, whether that be DAO or DA2.

Its absolutely sensible they aren't available in new games.

I think it's highly unlikely that so many party members will also be romances. Cassandra and Sera being romances almost guarantees that Vivienne won't be because BioWare seems to like keeping a gender balance for romance and non-romance companions in all of their DA games. Vivienne definitely feels like the Aveline of the group so far, IMO.

Yup, that's pretty much what I do if I feel like it.

Besides, people who've already played the past games would very likely be a little cross that past characters their heroes may have been in a relationship are available to someone else, and that by them being available, new characters aren't.

Just doesn't make sense. Each game will always have a brand new set of potential romantic partners, unless Bioware ever decides to forego romance entirely.

I'm going to remain hopeful and just assume they meant that past love interests that were actually romanced in your save file are unavailable.

Don't be. They meant exactly what was stated, all past romantic partners, romanced or unromanced, will not be available in later games as potential romantic partners.

Unless they suddenly decide to change their minds, which I doubt will happen.

I wonder if she'll be romanceable. It'd probably ****** off quite a few people.

She will not.

From the Leliana thread.

...Why? A big part of romances is ALWAYS helping characters vent their bottled up emotions from their pasts. Why would you want to romance Leliana again in DA3? So you can hear the same stories about being a spy in Orlais, Marjolaine, etc? We've already helped previous romance characters confront their pasts in the previous games. There seems to be very little reason to ever return to these characters in this way again.

Well its a moot point now but I wanted the option for even more playthroughs, though as this thread title suggests I will be pretty busy.
