Don't be. They meant exactly what was stated, all past romantic partners, romanced or unromanced, will not be available in later games as potential romantic partners.
Unless they suddenly decide to change their minds, which I doubt will happen.
What a shame, I feel like the three-way with Zevran and Isabela is a DA standard at this point.
I'm joking (mostly), but I'm sure I'm not the only one who would get a laugh out of having that in there (even more so if a human Inquisitor were somehow related to the human mage Warden and Hawke - it's a family tradition!).

I have to admit, I will be ever so slightly disappointed if we can't do this again. (I've never actually slept with them in DA2 - the one game where I was romancing Isabela, Zevran was dead. But it's nice to know that I could.)
Alternatively, I will accept another gratuitous threesome with past companions as a substitute.
Better hope Leliana puts out then.

Hey, this gave me an idea for the next Dragon Age title: Dragon Age: Romansition or Dragon Age:Romancer.
Nah, that would be for the dreaded romance simulator spin off.
Well, maybe not a simulator. But a decent DLC should work.
With multiplayer orgies? Ewwww.

Dragon Age eroge?
I'm up for shop!
...Why? A big part of romances is ALWAYS helping characters vent their bottled up emotions from their pasts. Why would you want to romance Leliana again in DA3? So you can hear the same stories about being a spy in Orlais, Marjolaine, etc? We've already helped previous romance characters confront their pasts in the previous games. There seems to be very little reason to ever return to these characters in this way again.
Well, in all fairness, a lot can happen in 10 years- Leliana has been spending time running between the Divine and Empress, furthering the Divine's goals. . .
Aye, but asking her about that doesn't require following a romance path.

Still it would be nice to have the option.
It's funny. In DAO I always liked Morrigan more and never payed much attention to Leliana. I thought she didn't fit.
In DAI I wouldn't care less about Morrigan but watching Leliana at her element makes me see her in a different light.
Yes. There is no guarantee that a particular gender/race combination will have as many romantic prospects as another.
And that's fine. Romance options are not candy to be dispensed fairly and evenly, and if there's a particular character that you've decided before the game is released that you must romance, it's advisable you play a different PC. The most we can do (and have done) is ensure that there's no overall slanting towards a particular group-- it's all over the map, for various reasons.

Not for folks who pursued the path in DAO. One of the big reasons they won't do it is the bag of worms that'll be opened by this happening. It's absolutely not worth the reactions they'd get for it.
I fled from the romance thread for a less serious version of events.

This thread jumps between lighthearted joking about romances and seriously discussing the number of them and what they may be.
So if you want we could talk about romancing desire demons. Or...
I came here too as I was also present in the romance thread when the comment dropped...
You just get the feeling this place is going to implode when the do the other LI's. I'm glad I don't think about that stuff till I'm in the game.

Oh it will. It always does.

I'm holding out for Dragon Age: Make Love, Not War.
