Jacob knew why Shepard was going to prison, though. I mean, he could've sent, like, a cake with a note written in the frosting.

SORRY I'M LEAVING YOU

FOUND SOMEONE ELSE

ENJOY BREAK UP CAKE

JUST FRIENDS, JACOB

lol

You know he didn't waste any time screwing Brynn. Shep should've been able to kick him in the balls.

I said justifiable, not right, lol. He was still a Cerberus operative- he communicated to Alliance command, he's signed his own death warrant, lol.

Yeah, that's what I meant.

Or Vivienne disapproves orphanage burning, but approves only of you do a subtle 'anonymous leak' so you not only get kudos for donating to orphans, but supposedly being humble about it. A good PR move gets her approval.

Yeah that would fit. Cassandra approves of being more upfront and virtuous about your actions. Varric approves more if you're subtle and snarky about it and so on.

Ooooooh, or doing a false flag afterwards of burning it earns some points back, because it was evil, but strategic.

Yeah! She doesn't necessarily like you, but it makes sense for an 'I respect your abilities'. Which makes much more sense for a sort of rivalmance thing than 'I hate literally everything you stand for but daaaaamn gurl yeah let's go'. Which was how DA2 struck me, although I know they intended it to be the 'respect your abilities' type thing.

Yeah. . . like, it was better to be the antithesis of someone than just in the middle, which is weird.

That would definitely be the best option.

Burn down an orphanage, but leave your LI back at base? When you return there, they've heard about it (Because really- how would they not?) and are rightfully pissed.

Who the f*** would burn down an orphanage!

lol

I like you went from "I don't really care for my travelling companions, so instead, I would like to become THE EMPEROR!"

That's a hell of a jump.

Yes, yes it is. My favorite playthroughs of DA:O was human noble becoming King. I don't know, I didn't really care for Merril or Isabella of DA2, and I really enjoyed the company of Alistar and Sten of DA:O. At least Morrigan was interesting, if not effin crazy.  At this point, though, it seems as though my male inquisitor won't be enjoying the company of any female. Unless, that is, they make Celene romancable! Give it to me Bioware.

Now now, we haven't heard their side of it. Perhaps the orphanage deserved it. Or maybe there was a needle in the orphanage and the quickest way to find it was to burn everything else to ashe.

I'm sure the Chantry had orphans in it. So. . . Anders? If they're Tevinter magisters' children, maybe Fenris. . . Uhm. . . Shale if she fell through the roof into the chimney?

Guys, it's NBD- they were just Elves; it's not like any real children died.

Some people do Chaotic Evil playthroughs. I don't understand those people even slightly, but they exist and I assume the explosions are fun. So the option should exist, but have appropriate consequences.

Also the 'donate to an orphanage/burn that sucker down' is a common example when describing the often starkly black and white choices of a videogame morality system. I don't know if it's ever been an in-game thing.

I just like the one in DA because it lets you just straight up dagger people in the throat.

Dragon Age makes me care tho. Brings out my 'a yes small child take my best shield to save you from the dragon. in fact, take them all to shield your friends while i go kill it' side as opposed to my 'who even are you what happens if i kick you' side

True, I just got bored after like. . . 5 replays of the first game, and did a full on evil playthrough of the first two games. Good favoring the Elves, Mages, and equality is my usual play through, followed by Just/ Templars/ safety.
