And equally I could say your ignoring evidence because it suits you to do so.

No, you couldn't because you don't have evidence. You have a kiss on the cheek and the fact that Varric said she might have a crush on male Hawke, which she denied.

If that was all the evidence needed to determine someones sexuality then there would be a lot more bisexuals out there because kissings friends on the cheek is very common, regardless of gender.

I'm open to her being either, you're assuming.

Apparently her writer, Rhianna Pratchett wanted to make it clear that she was gay in the rebooted game but someone at the developer or publisher level wouldn't let her.

Lame. But in the future, it may happen.

Gaming needs more LGBT heroes. DA's got them. I think Sera's the first companion in DA to ever be announced as homosexual.

In his only previous appearance, Anders only expressed interest in women, not men.

And yet...

The lesson of the story: Just because it's not said explicitly doesn't mean it isn't there.

I know quite a few bisexuals who are in a relationship and this drives them NUTS. "I like men and women. I am currently dating a woman. Therefore, everyone assumes I only like women". Nonsense.

I'm out of likes for today, so have one of these instead.

If you put what she says about Hawke as Varric telling tales.

She says absolutely nothing. If you mean the 'romantic' line, surprise, she said the exact same for fHawke.

Edit:

She is writing the new Tomb Raider game and the comics, so maybe she'll introduce it then.

I think you're right about Sera....wow

Doesn't mean Lara is straight, just that they prefer to keep her sexuality ambiguous. Which is good imo.

Yup. The only Bioware same-sex-only romances that existed before were Traynor and Cortez from Mass Effect 3, and they weren't full companions.

This is a major step.

Lets hope it actually IS a major step and is written correctly.

A fair point. How about, it's a step in the right direction.

Better to try and fail than to never try at all.

That is very true, there is no indication of her sexuality in the rebooted Tomb Raider.

In some cases. When it came to DA2, LGBT was really just LGBT and the T was made into a joke character to be funny because of the T part.

Twice in one day!

Crap, I totally forgot about her.

So that was 1 lesbian companion in a game from 10 years ago, 2 gay NPC romances in a 2 year old game and then Sera in DA:I

Did we forget about anyone else?

Nope that's it.  And <fingers crossed> soon Dorian (or Blackwall or Solas) might be joining that list too.

It's just funny about Juhani because did the exact same thing this morning in the new romance thread and I posted almost the same thing.  Poor Juhani and her pseudo-romance!

Have you read the comics they have released to bridge the gap between the last game and the new one? Lara and Sam live together in an apartment, call each other babe and of course this line: "I'm barely out of my teens and I've lost everyone I care about: my father, my mother, Roth...Everyone except the person I love most in the world (referring to Sam.)"

They may have prevented her from outwardly making Lara gay but she and Gail Simone are sure laying on the subtext REALLY thick, haha.

If Sera is gay then there will have to be a gay male LI too.

I would say either Dorian or Solas since Blackwall gave me a Wynne vibe when I read his character interview. I'd like to be wrong those, romancing an older character might be fun.

I'm still catching up on the thread, but I think if they did add a Flemeth romance, I could see it being like Morinth* all over again...

*For those that never played the ME games, Morinth is a succubus/vampire of sorts.  She kills people through sex, and gains power and intelligence from the people she kills.   If you attempt to do a romance with her, you get one of the more interesting Non-standard Game Overs I've ever seen.*

No, I haven't read the comics yet. I really need to pick them up since I like Rihanna and totally LOVE Gail Simone.

Just based on entirely shallow reasons I would love to romance Blackwall (dat beard tho), but I'm not sure he will be available at all to anyone. We shall see.

I think the gay male option is overwhelmingly likely to be Dorian, because I don't think they will have two gay elves. And I doubt Blackwall is a romance option at all. (Alas!)

I think Dorian is probably gay. I get a Freddie Mercury vibe from his totally baller mustache and jawline for days. It would be too bad if Blackwall wasn't romancable. I find him far more interesting  than Solas.

Freddie Mercury was bisexual... of course that must mean a semi confirmation of Dorian being bi right?  Right?

Blackwall seems like he might be available for a relationship with both genders, or at least available as someone to have "fun" with at some point.
