I dunno, that would be THE boneheaded move to make. I think with how well-written Mae is they'd at least have the brain cells to use the standard female model or at the very least make a new model.

But making a new model for one character would be a lot of work. Mae would have to be a very major character for them to consider doing this, and could be a part of why she isn't in DA:I.

It'd be more useful if they opened the model up to the CC for the PC, but it would also require at least 1 more model for AFAB PCs. So I think the female model it is.
ETA: PLUS equivalent models for the non-human species open to the PC, since the human-only aspect of DA2 was one of the ACTUALLY bad things.

The problem with the female model is that they tend to have very prominent breasts.
It's probably better than using the male model, but it's still pretty sloppy.

Eh. Diana Allers had a unique model in ME3. And she did jack ****.

Hey, false breasts (like inserts, not implants) have been around for centuries. And Mae's literally magic. Her blue dress seems to have been altered to that effect in comics, but not as much.
And Isabela had uniquely large breasts in DA2, I shouldn't think reducing the same slider would be too difficult, esp since they seem to be sticking with the companions having their own unique armor meshes (despite being able to equip them with different things this time round)

No, she didn't. I put my femshep in the dress and they looked exactly the same body-wise.

You must be thinking she had a unique face model.

The representation also applies to the player character.
If you have 4 romanceable characters, yes they are all bisexual, but the player character can be bisexual, straight, or gay. And no matter which one they choose, they will still have choice.
In terms of other forms of representation we can still use non-romanceable characters for that representation too.
If the PC can be gay, lesbian, straight, bi, pan, ace, etc etc, then I think those companions can be too. I'd rather they not be all gay, or all lesbian, or all straight, or all bi, or all pan, or all ace. I'd rather they be just as varied as the PC has the potential to be.

Huh, a magister married to a dwarf? That seems odd to me given how important magic is in Tevinter and how..unmagical dwarves are. Did they say if she did it for power and allies in the merchents guild or was it a genuine love situation?

So will there be more than four romance options ?. In theory it is good thing, however I wonder how will it affect the overall quality of every single romance plot. ME 3 had a lot of romace options, it was nice addition but not as much integrated to the story like in previous DA games. I hope romances won't become more shallow because of their number.

To be fair, we're getting a lot more of a lot of things. Is anyone saying dragon fights will be worse because now we have 20 instead of 2?

Bioware is known for storytelling. They won't mess up. And Dragonfights will be fun.

I am pretty sure it was for love, given mae's words and attitude on the topic!

That's actually really adorable. I should read this comic.

Yep. It was on the Facebook page, and David Gaider's Twiter as well. There are links in the Twitter thread and the Dorian thread in the Story forum. (Which also has a dance party going on.)

That'd be a bit insensitive, considering there've already been complaints about the dimorphism between presumed-cis PCs being too strong. Less so if the character were some form of genderqueer, but if it's Mae it would come off as just the 'man-in-a-dress' stereotype.
It would also be absurd, because DA men are jacked and muscular and she is not (at least based on the comic book art). In the picture below, she's shorter and thinner - clearly her build is like that of other women we see in DA.

Then he stays at the keep along with Sera & Cole. Won't be using them...

My first reaction to Mae was, "Holy crap, she's amazing. I'm not normally into blondes, but BioWare keeps writing them so damn well!"

God, yes. I do seriously hope we see Mae in upcoming DLC. She was amazing.
