If the PC can be gay, lesbian, straight, bi, pan, ace, etc etc, then I think those companions can be too. I'd rather they not be all gay, or all lesbian, or all straight, or all bi, or all pan, or all ace. I'd rather they be just as varied as the PC has the potential to be.

 

I agree with this.

 

The problem with having every companion character be bisexual, or straight, or what have you...is how did the Inquisitor end up with this party to begin with? Was there a screening process where people of a certain sexual preference were excluded? "Oh, you're straight? No we can't have that. Someone didn't get the memo. This is the Biquisition!" Or "Wait, you're gay? No, that just won't do. It says right here in Item 17.B of our contract, 'Men must not dress more fabulously than Vivienne. Straight people with drab armor only! Shoo!"

Mae is tippy top and while she may never be a romance in a Bioware game, it would be a huge step and big deal if Bioware ever goes with a potential transgender romantic partner in a future title.

I would love for Mae to be character (even a party member) in an upcoming game.  I feel like there is a lot that she can bring to the story, so I hope that they don't put her in the DLC so that they can really expand her role in a full game.

Probably because they haven't insulted real people. Can't really ban a person for having an opinion on a fictional character.
