I'm debating between either Cassandra or Josephine when I get the game. I am definitely going mage if I go with Cass, love to see what would happened. And maybe in a second playthrough, I'll go warrior and romace Josephine ![]()
My character's class will be decided with no connection to whom they may or may not romance, and right now I'm not sure who with or even if I'll have my Inquisitor in a romance.
The game holds all the answers. But first, SO MANY QUESTIONS
she's open to both male and female inquisitors
DA universe seems to have a thing for lesbian/bisexual women among important characters. Leliana, Sera, Josephine, Isabella, Merill, Celene...
And heterosexual women are Morrigan, Cassandra, maybe Vivienne.... Oh, and Aveline. I'm all for tolerance, but this is blown completely out of proportion.
In Mass Effect there was more realism to this. Kelly, Traynor and Liara (as an Asari she didn't really count though).

Fun fact-
Thedas isn't real. ![]()
Realism has its place in fantasy, but not to a colossal extent, otherwise it stops being fantasy.
Same, in DA2 I didn't really romance anyone (male that is) too much whining. My character's class will be decided with no connection to whom they may or may not romance, and right now I'm not sure who with or even if I'll have my Inquisitor in a romance.

Also some people are reading way too much into this whole thing IMO the romance isn't really that significant in DA just a fun part of it and they tried their best esp in this game to please everyone
This forum is filled with the more hardcore DA and Bioware fans. People here care far more than those that aren't here. The forums don't represent the majority.

And that's awesome.
More gay/bi people please. ![]()
Also Asari DO count. They're females.

Well not technically, but thats semantics;of course we knew what they were meant to be. ![]()

BioWare! I have a suggestion that I feel you MUST implement in the game! For love!
In the later parts of the game, after you've established a romance, whoever you're romancing can ride with you on whatever mount you're using! And if they're female you can toggle whether they can ride side-saddle or not. Because....you know, muh immersion, and all that. >_>
Iron Bull ...... considers flinging Sera above the enemies into the thick of it a legitimate strategy.
Did anyone realize that banter actually played in one of the released vids? I think a rogue one from E3. I distinctly remember hearing Iron Bull say: "Think of the Mayhem, Sera..... MAAAYHEMMM"
Anyways, I think the Final Romances are Vivienne and Varric. Vivienne (race-gated: Human) wants to be close to power (the GAME and all that), And Varric (Race-Gated: Dwarf) for saving that village. Remember some time ago a dev stated that there was a village, that if the Inquisitor didn't save it, he got extremely upset? Maybe he has family there, and wants to properly thank you for saving them........

At this point I honestly have no idea who the last two are, bbuuuut I'd probably be upset as well if my leader let a village of people die when we could've done something to stop it, and I can confirm I am non-romanceable in game.
Add Anora and Wynne to your "heterosexual" list and they come out even. Imaginary problem = solved.

Bethany only shows interest in men but Hespith was double dipping.
You mean Branka was. The only relationship we know Hespith had was with Branka so she could be a lesbian.

...You don't think having characters being homosexual/bisexual or having preferences is realistic?
BOY HAVE I GOT NEWS FOR YOU.
If I am one of the last two unrevealed love interests BioWare will have a lot of explaining to do.
Maybe there'll be an Inquisition Extended Cut so you can find out more about their decision to choose you as a love interest, but I wouldn't hold my breath for a launch day explanation. My recommendation would be to enjoy the story up until that point, and avoid narcissistically selecting yourself.

You forgot Wynne, Leandra, Bethany, Meredith, Mother Petrice, Reverend Mother Elthina, Anora, Dagna, Sigrun, Velanna, and Tallis. All pretty important characters, I'd say, and none of whom have their sexual preference as the most important thing about them. For that matter, none of the women you mentioned are summed up solely by their sexualities, either. I'm puzzled as to why you singled out these specific characters and didn't see fit to mention any of the other dozen or so female characters whose sexuality is not on display for you to examine and either approve or disapprove of.
I also find it interesting that your tolerance for gay, lesbian, and bisexual characters only goes to a certain point and no further.

I'm guessing that you've never actually ridden side-saddle.

I think I'd rather get angry about the inclusion of optional content. Maybe I'll start a few petitions. Hold onto it for years to come, and eventually come to begrudging resentment. Then I might give myself a chance with myself, but you can be sure I won't be happy about it.
the romance options in DAI might lead me to avoiding the romance subplots
